2011 First Day – Information

For the first day of school we all need to follow the same protocol to ensure that there is order and procedures in place to reduce congestion in the hallways and to ensure that all students receive a correct schedule.

Schedule

1^st Period 7:20 – 8:20

2^nd Period 8:25 – 8:45

3^rd Period 8:50 – 9:10

4^th Period 9:15 – 9:35

5^th Period 9:40 – 10:00

6^th Period 10:05 – 10:30

First period is an hour long so that we can spend the first 30 minutes on important announcements for the school and the final 30 minutes for your class.

Please make these announcements about the first week of school:

Distribution

1. Please distribute a blue “Counselor Schedule Change Form” only to the students that have these issues with their schedule:
1. Hole in their schedule / Incomplete schedule
2. A class that they have already taken and passed
3. Conflict with a Dual Enrollment class(s) or with Co-op or with DCMST/Michael Berry
4. A class that they did not have the prerequisite

State to students that they must fill the form out completely in order for it to be reviewed and that counselors are not seeing students unless if they are called down by the counselor.

 

2. Collect all blue “Counselor Schedule Change Forms” and give them to your department chair. Department chairs will submit them to the counseling department secretary.

3. Announcements
1. All students are to follow their schedule
2. Attendance starts today and the audit policy is effective starting today
3. If a student has a hole in their schedule they go to the auditorium during the period that the hole occurs
4. There will be no busses on the first day of school; All DCMST & Micheal Berry students are to go to the auditorium during their DCMST & Micheal Berry scheduled time
5. Co-op students are to go the auditorium and see Mr. Shooshanian during their Co-op time
6. All students that attend DCMST, Michael Berry Center, Co-op, or Dual Enrollment must get an Early Leave Pass from Mrs. Beydoun in the main office by Friday, September 9
7. No students will be allowed in the counseling office
8. Students are to either be in class or in the auditorium, no students are to be in the hallway
9. If you fill out a blue “Counselor Schedule Change Form” you will be called down to the counseling office or you will receive an updated schedule. Students are not allowed in the counseling office without a pass from the counselor. In addition, we are not dropping any AP classes for any students unless there is a scheduling conflict.

Absolutely NO PASSES!  Students are not to leave the auditorium until the bell rings. If a counselor makes a schedule adjustment they are not to write the student a pass, the student is to wait until the bell rings.

If you receive schedules in your mailbox please give the schedule to the student immediately.
