- Form groups to conduct a sociological study using the research process.
- Evaluate various explanations for actions or events and determine which explanation best accords with textual evidence, acknowledging where the text leaves matters uncertain.

IV. Sociological Research: Due October 10: (Groups of 4 or less)
- Define the Problem (3 pts)
- Background Readings 2-3 articles: 1-2 paragraph summary of each topic and findings. (12 pts)
- Hypothesis (3 points)
- 4-5 questions (do not write Yes or No questions) (List Your Questions) (8 pts)
- Interview 24 students (mix of males, females, different grades) Demonstrate with a chart or PowerPoint) (Record and analyze responses to your questions. (Create a chart or PowerPoint) (30 pts)
- Based upon the data, formulate a conclusion and relate it to the problem and hypothesis. (10 pts)
- The group (every member) presents the study to the class in an organized, smooth manner. (14 pts)
