I.   Bellwork: Q&A

  • List and explain each of the three main principles of symbolic interactionism
  • Explain what a symbolic interactionist say in response to the statement below:

“Human beings are born fully formed social beings, without the need for social interaction.”

II.   Objectives:

  • Create scenarios which demonstrate the application of the main sociological theories.
  • Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, well-chosen details, and well-structured event sequences.

A.   Sociological-perspective-skits-directions-and-rubric-edited(summative)

  • Group size of 3-4
  • Follow directions on the handout
  • Performance on Wednesday
  • Write or type your script/dialogue
  • Find a background and e-mail it to me or save it on a flash drive
  • Rehearse your roles
  • Obtain the needed props

V.  Classwork

  • Provide an outline describing your skit and what you are planning.
  • Describe each member’s role and responsibilities.
