Tomorrow is a late start!

*This post is from Mr. Attee’s blog. See you all tomorrow at 9:35 am!

DuVall Families,

This is just a reminder that there will be a late start day on Wednesday, September 19th.  School will start one hour later (dismissal is still at 3:35 PM).  The students will still line up on the playground and the first bell will ring tomorrow at 9:35 AM.

Homework Supplies

Tonight I have sent home a zip lock baggie of homework supplies. These supplies were donated by a family in the district and are yours to keep! The supplies you have donated to the classroom along with your child’s personal pencil box will remain there for us to use. This baggie is to help you make sure that your child has the proper supplies at home to do work. Thank you again for all your support with our new homework program.

*Math homework is coming home tonight for the first time this year! Your packet is due one week from the date given (unless adjustments have been made for holidays or days absent for illness, or snow days). Please make sure your child has somewhere quiet to work with an adult on these review pages. The “game” of the week is always yours to keep (in a sheet protector in a math binder at home) and will remain at home! All skills are review skills that have been worked on in school and parent sheets were given to help explain journal pages. However please feel free to email let me if you have any questions about how to complete or organize math homework. Have fun and thank you in advance for your help with math homework.

Social Studies: Continue Unit 4: Getting Along With Others

Science: Push and Pull

Important Dates: Apple Orchard field trip October 18th! If you have not sent in your child’s permission slip/money ($10) for the field trip please do so this week. If you’d like to be in the lottery for chaperones, make sure you pop in the office to fill out an ichat background check!

Have a wonderful week. If there are any adjustments or updates to our week I will send them out as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ross 🙂

Earlier this morning police cars and EMS were in the neighborhood near our school.  During this time, students were learning safely at school. The police and EMS were responding to an situation that was not related to school operations and appears to be a medical emergency.

Field Day Reminder!

Image result for field day games

Families,

This post is to remind you all that tomorrow morning from 9:00am-11:00am is our Field Day yay!!!!!! Please remember to send your child to school with a backpack and lunch plans as if it was a normal day. If they are buying lunch we will be back in time as usual! Here are a few reminders to help make the morning easier:

  1. apply sunscreen at home to make sure it blends in and your child is protected!
  2. dress appropriately for outdoor activities/weather/tennis shoes (any child in sandals has been told they are not going to be able to participate for safety reasons)
  3. Chaparones walking with us to the park please be here to sign in by 9:00am. ALL chaparones must have a background check. The teacher has notified you if there was an issue, so if you have not heard anything than you are all set!
  4. Wear your blue DuVall shirt if you purchased one, however if you did not no worries just wear something with blue on it!

We are looking forward to a great field day!

Mrs. Ross and Class 🙂

*For those that are driving next week to the park and pool please make sure that you have come into the office to show your driver license and insurance. In addition, you must have a car seat for every child you drive so if parents are willing to let us borrow some for the day we would appreciate it! I have one in my car that can be used as well!

Field Trip Helpers/Drivers…

Dear Parents,

I am writing you to remind all families to please send in all forms and money for your child to attend the three end of the year events! Here is what you need for each:

Yogurtopia: sign form and send in $4 for your child! Parents welcome if they have an ichat and if they want to eat yogurt you must pay $4 in advance!

Field Day: Please just sign the permission slip and let us know if you can “run” a station! we are walking to summer stevens, so we’d love parents to accompany us on the walk if you have the current ichat!

Park and Pool: Permission slip, $6 for students and $2 for adults! PLEASE let us know if you can drive students and how many! If the number is your children please indicate so I don’t end up arranging other children to go with you!

As of now we do NOT have enough drivers for our classroom and I am a little worried! If you can take more that just you child, or are able to drive your child please consider helping us out that day!THANK YOU in advance for all your help as ALWAYS!!!

We thank you all and  hope you have a beautiful day!

Mrs. Ross and Class 🙂
