SAFE Treats for students to Pass out Thursday AM!

Image result for allergy free blue pumpkin

If your child Wishes to bring in a small treat/trinket for their friends on Thursday morning we will walk around the tables and put them into brown paper lunch bags we decorate. Students will not be eating this candy at school, it is just to share and take home for later if they wish to 🙂 If your family wants to send in something here is the list of items safe to pass out. Please make sure that food comes from this list and that you always double check labels to ensure that candy items are free of: egg, peanuts, tree nuts and sesame seeds. Please make sure that candy is individually packaged and not loose (cookies, brownies, cupcakes etc.). I have looked up several candies that are made without nuts, eggs and manufactured in safe facilities to help. When in doubt please ask me and I will get back to you 🙂 THANK YOU so much for your help to make our Halloween activities safe for all our sweet penguins!

Halloween Party Sign Up Genius!

Dear Families,

Below is the link to our classroom sign up. No pressure of course, but if you would like to donate any supplies we will be using for the party here is the list below! Once again, the brands that are safe and allowed in the class are the ones listed on the sign up. Please be careful to only buy these so that all our students will be safe in the class at the Halloween Party 🙂 In addition, please do NOT send in any additional food items that have not been asked for because we are avoiding all egg, nut and foods made in nut facilities on the day of the party! Another list will come home this week with candies and companies that are safe to purchase if your child wants to pass a candy or make up a goodie bag for their friends. Thank you once again for your support and generosity as always!

Happy Halloween!

Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you dry and warm and spending time with your loved ones. I wanted to take a moment to thank you all so much for all the beautiful messages and support you have given my family and my son Ben as we adapt to our new day to day life. I am so grateful for the Duvall community and my wonderful students. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ben went back to school and sports a lot faster than I was ready for, but we are bravely putting one foot in front of the other because it is important 🙂 I wanted to inform you that I will be at an education class tomorrow with the endocrinologist but everything is alright and I will be back as usual on Tuesday! Looking forward to a wonderful week. Here is what you need to know. If there are any changes or additions to our post I will make them as soon as they arise. Have a wonderful week and Happy Halloween!

Important Dates:

Friday: Half Day for students with an 11:45am dismissal. Though we will not have lunch on Friday students are welcome to bring a small snack 🙂

Thursday October 31st is Halloween! You child may bring a costume to school in a bag (with their name labeled on it) to change into when we begin our class activities. The principal has asked for students to please have them wear their usual school clothes in the morning. Thursday mornings we have gym class! We will have stations beginning at 1:30pm and a school-wide parade at 2:00pm. Parents welcome at 1:30pm to join in the fun! I have set up a sign up genius below for any families wishing to donate supplies for the party. No pressure of course 🙂 Any missing items Mrs. Ross will be sure to purchase. Students can bring in an individually packaged treat to share with their friends. We have 21 students and I am working on a “Safe Treat List” of options that will be ok to bring in and share with ALL our students 🙂 These items will be egg free, nut free and made in peanut/tree nut free facilities. Thank you all so very much in advance for your generosity and help to make our Halloween Party safe and amazing!

Many students are beginning to write simple sentences to support their stories. I am impressed!
