Wow! That was such a great first week of school. It was SO amazing to meet your child last week and have our first online zoom meeting. Thank you all for your partnership and patience as we navigate this virtual start to the school year. It made my heart SO happy to see all the smiling and excited students I have the pleasure of working with this year. Next week, we will begin using Schoology for all our zoom meetings and communication. This weekend, I posted written and a video how to log in tutorial with information, reminders and communication in our schoology classroom. I am working on putting material into our class site, however all your child needs to do for Tuesday’s morning zoom meeting is click the link. Remember this is our last blog post on my school blog. From now on I will be blogging on our schoology site. I also sent an email with the same info on it (tutorial video and zoom link) JIC you have not subscribed to the blog.

Have a wonderful Memorial weekend!

-Mrs. Ross 🙂

Here is a step by step process to get to your child’s schoology classroom:

I have created a reoccurring zoom link that will make our meetings much easier to access at the click of a link!

Here are a few reminders concerning daily attendance:

*Students are required to participate in our virtual zoom meetings daily. I will take attendance after our whole group reading and writing zoom sessions in mistar each day.

*If a child is NOT in attendance they will be marked “absent” for the day. unless the child has been called in “sick” through the school office (not teachers email).

Physical Education Waivers

Robert AtteeClass News

Dear DuVall Families,

The Dearborn Public School District and our schools need your help.  In order to participate virtually in physical education this school year, parents and students will need to sign the DEARBORN PUBLIC SCHOOLS PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT WAIVER/RELEASE FOR INJURY AND/OR COMMUNICABLE DISEASES INCLUDING COVID-19.  Please read and sign the waiver by Friday, September 11th by clicking on this link.

Good Morning! Zoom Meeting :-)

Good morning room 106! I am SO excited to see you all at our first zoom meeting today!! I will click the meeting to “start” at 9:00 am and we will begin with attendance and practicing “clicking” the mute button off to say hello and then muting it again. Please have your child bring their new materials I passed out yesterday at the distribution day. We will briefly go through each one together instead of me doing a tutorial. I have some activities planned for the meeting, and we will get to as many as we can today. Each day we will meet online and work to increase our minutes and stamina as a whole group. The goal today is to get acquainted with our first zoom meeting and meet each other with our big smiles! See you soon:

First Day Self Portraits!

Dear Kdg Families,

It has been such a pleasure talking to all yesterday and I am so lucky to be working with your child and family this year. I hope your children are enjoying our little stories and I know I am loving their pictures. I wanted to post all of the pictures that I have received so far (and will continue to update as they come my way)! PLEASE let me know if I missed anyone. I am so proud of all your hard work boys and girls and thank you once again moms and dads for all your support already. Thank you in advance for your partnership and patience in these early weeks and this year. We are doing great already! I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at 11:00 AM outside the preschool entrance on Frances Street!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ross 🙂

Day 2 Theme: Always Do Our best!

Dear Kindergarteners,

This year you are going to have such a wonderful time. Together, we are going to learn SO much! This story is about a little boy named Henry and how he is getting ready for Kindergarten. Henry discusses all of the wonderful things he knows how to do already. He also talks about the exciting things he hopes to do and learn in school. After you listen to the book, share some of the wonderful things you know how to do/hope to learn how to do in kindergarten this year. Be ready to share one of these things with Mrs. Ross when you pick up materials on Wednesday at 11:00am! I can’t wait to see you tomorrow my shiny little penguins. I also included a copy of the story from YouTube so that your child can see the story very close. Enjoy!

Love,

Mrs. Ross 🙂
