Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you well and wanted to wish you a safe, healthy and Happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for my wonderful job filled with the most special children. I am so blessed that I get to spend every day with your precious child and I thank you for your hard work and support on our journey this year. DuVall is a wonderful school and I am so proud to be a part of this community.

I am looking forward to our “Friendsgiving” meal this afternoon and just wanted to send out our blog post this morning to remind everyone coming of the last minute details. In addition, I wanted to THANK YOU again for your generosity and time you have given to help make this new tradition a success!

*Friendsgiving is from 2:00pm to 3:00pm

*Parents are welcome to join! Please just sign in at the office and get a visitor’s pass

*If your child is donating anything to the meal you may send it in the morning, or drop it off in the office in a bag labeled “Ross 106” at any time before or at 1:45pm. Your child may also walk it in at 8:35 am if that is most convenient for you!

*If you’d like to leave with your child after we eat that is fine, please just remember to sign them out in the office before leaving because I don’t have the authority to dismiss students early 🙂

Important Dates and Information:

*Homework:. A new packet was sent home last night.

*Conferences: Conferences are back to back so please be prompt 🙂 Make sure to check your child’s reminder slips and back of the folder for your highlighted date/time on the behavior sheets 🙂

*Popcorn: This week there is no popcorn sales but next wee we have popcorn sales so bring those quarters at 8:35am!

*Library check out: Your child will visit the library again on today. Please make sure that your child’s book is in their backpack Monday night ready to be returned this next morning. Any lost or damaged books front he DuVall library will need to be replace by the individual child’s family. Thank you for helping your child become a responsible penguin!

*Reading Packs: I know it’s hard on a vacation to remember to read, but make sure your child is spending about 10-15 minutes a night on the books, letters/words you find in there. This will help your child SO much reviewing their personal bags each night! Those students who had books sent home last week, make sure they are in there next week because they will be switched for one to two more this week! Reading progress is coming along SO WELL! I am so proud 🙂 Thank YOU ALL for all you do at home with your child!

THANK YOU to all the students that have been bringing in pictures from magazines that were examples of “needs and wants.” We have really enjoyed discussing the difference between the two and sorting them on a t-chart!
