First Grade Mini-Mondrians

Kindergarten Lines

First grade Rocketships

First grade artists began the school year by practicing their lines that they learned last year in Kindergarten.   Each artist drew a rocket ship in outer space, and then added the lines they remembered from last year to show that the rocket ship was flying away!

First Day of Art Class Mural

On the first day of art class this year each artist practiced our art room procedures.  Then, everyone made their own monochromatic self portrait for our Welcome Back Mural. Second Grade Lighthouses

For the last art class of the school year, second grade artists looked at some of the lighthouses in Michigan and discussed what the job of a lighthouse is. Each artist drew and colored a lighthouse, painted a background, and then glued the lighthouse to the background.
