Third grade artists have been learning about value in the art room.

Value is an element of art.  Each artist began by drawing three pumpkins that showed overlapping.

Then they traced all of their pencil lines with glue.

Then they practiced showing value with chalk by making a value scale and blending two colors together.  Value is the lightness or darkness of a color.

Then they used chalk to add color and value to their pumpkins.
