Third grade artists took a small break from their crazy bird sculptures to learn about a new artists, Peter Max.

We created our own versions of Peter Max’s painted hearts using warm and cool colors in time for Valentine’s Day.

Each artist painted a heart and a frame using only cool, or only warm, colors, and then painted around the heart using the opposite color family.

We made sure to show many colors and brushstrokes like Peter Max does.

Details were added with black or cool and warm colors on top of opposite colors.
