While kindergarten artists were learning about the primary colors in the art room our student teacher, Ms. McGowan, introduced them to the artist Jasper Johns and his colorful number paintings.

Each artist folded their papers to create boxes and then used the primary colors to paint numbers in each box.  They carefully painted around each number with the other primary colors, and they could mix the colors to create new colors for their painting.
