Second Grade Action Sculptures

After learning to draw Keith Haring- inspired bubble people that looked like they were moving, second grade artists created sculptures that were also showing movement!

They used wire to create a stick person shape and covered their wire with a layer of tape.

Students wrapped their full wire sculptures in tape.

Then they posed their sculpture to show a specific movement and covered it in plaster strips.

Here students are dipping strips of plaster cloth in water and wrapping them around their wire and tape sculptures.

They mixed their own unique color and painted their sculpture.

Then they chose an abstract design to add decorations.
