Second Grade Radial Hex Designs

Second grade artists looked at artwork that has radial symmetry with Ms. McGowan, our student teacher!  The artwork we looked at was from Pennsylvania and was called a Hex Design.  These designs were usually hung on barns for good luck.

Just like a hexagon has six sides, our hex designs have six sections.  Each artist showed radial symmetry by drawing the same designs in each of their six sections around their circle.
