First Grade Mondrian Masterpieces

First grade artists reviewed the primary colors and horizontal and vertical lines during art class by creating a Mondrian-inspired artwork!

We started by looking at the abstract artwork of Piet Mondrian and noticed the primary colors, squares, rectangles, and horizontal and vertical lines.

Each artist glued a combination of primary colored rectangles to their paper, trying to show balance.

Then they used cardboard and paint to add black lines.
