Schedule for Friday’s trip to the Grand Opening of the Farmer’s Market

Attached is our schedule (Master Spreadsheet 2015) for Friday.  Please let me know if you are having trouble finding a way to transport your child to the Farmer’s Market.  If there is some reason you cannot stay with your child please let me know so that we can assign chaperones.  We will be divided into three groups if you have a preference for which group you would like to be in after you see the schedule please let me know and I will try to accommodate as many people as possible with the wishes.   Please let me know if your child will be driven to and from the market  by another parent so I know who will be with who as I make the groups.

Front Row for Math – Parent account

We have been using a new software application called Front Row at school to help us learn math. The program is designed to help each student practice Common Core aligned mathematical skills at his or her level, making sure every student improves at math. You can use the code attached to the parent letters below to sign up for a parent account in Front Row! Congratulations! You’ll now be able to see detailed information about where your student is in math, and what you can do to encourage improvement!  We have been using this with all the 3rd graders but Keebler 2nd graders can use it for extra practice also.   Parent Letters

Here is a message from the PTA regarding the Walk & Roll-a-thon

On behalf of the Howe PTA we would like to thank the parents who brought Early Bird vouchers in this week. We would like to encourage everyone to continue to obtain more sponsorships for the Walk & Roll-a-thon.

Let’s make this happen for our students.  Since the school has moved we haven’t had a fundraiser so this one is very important to keep the PTA going and fund events throughout the school year. Such as assemblies,  Montessori materials, training and many other classroom needs. Raising money now allows us to start our next school year with the needed funds to do all this.

Let’s do this together and make our school and education for our students stronger. As parents at Howe we let our children lead the way to their future. We as parents we show how to step up and make it happen!

Thank you

Jessica Burt

Rubric

I just got home and had a bite to eat.  Here is the rubric.  Please read your students writing and see how they did.  Give them suggestions based on the rubric.  We will do the writing prompt on the same type of writing tomorrow.  This rubric is for 2nd and 3rd grade so we would expect the 2nd graders to be in the middle and the 3rd to be closer to the top.

Here is the link to the rubric in case your student didn’t bring it home.

Homework Tonight

Everyone in Mrs. Keebler’s class has homework tonight.  We are finishing our compare and contrast writing assignment on Native Americans past and present.    All students need to show their writing to their parents.   The students and parents need to compare their writing to the rubric that they should have brought home.  I will try to attach it later after my meeting.
