Penmanship

Penmanship is the presentation of your work.  It becomes increasingly important as children attend high school and college.  High school and college teachers will often grade a student lower for poor penmanship.  Please always encourage your student to use their best penmanship.  This is something that can be practiced at home. Make sure your student is using the line of the paper properly and the letters are properly placed on the line..  For example a p should hang below the line and an e shouldn’t.  We start teaching cursive in the middle of 3rd grade.  However, it is important that they are able to print well also.  Here are some resources that can be helpful for practice:
