Literacy, Science and Math
For today’s activity I would like you to watch the video “It Looked Like Spilt Milk”, then head outside and look at the clouds in the sky! What do you see?? Draw a picture and write about the different shaped clouds you saw in the sky! You could even use cotton balls to create your illustration! Also, count or tally the number of clouds that go by while you are outside!! Don’t forget to sent me pictures….I will be posting them tomorrow!

Today we have a different take on the story of Little Red Riding Hood! While you’re listening to this story, I want you to think about what is different from the story we read yesterday.
What did you notice that was different about the story? Choose one of the activities below to complete with your child, take a picture and send it to me!

| 5 to 10 Minutes | Plan for Work Time (Playtime): Build your child’s ability to organize their time by having them make a “plan” with you about what they would like to play with. Children do this everyday with us at school. It helps children learn to organize their thoughts. They will tell you what they are planning to do/want to play with/how they will use toys at home. School Supply Distribution
Dear Becker Families,Becker School will be distributing free school supplies to all families on Thursday, May 7 at 1:00-2:00 pm. Please come to the main entrance on Henson street to collect any needed supplies for your child to continue remote learning.

Literacy, Social Studies and Movement
1.Today we’re going to read about Little Red Riding Hood. Have you read or listened to this story before? It is one of my favorites! Let’s read it together here.
2.Now we’re going to make a map for little red riding hood! A map is a drawing or model to help people find their way around. A map can be flat and made out of paper, or three-dimensional like a model! Think about all the things she passed in the forest, what would you put on your map?
You can use paper, markers, colored pencils, glue, toys…anything you can think of to make your map! Make sure to label the important places on your map (ex. Little Red Riding Hoods house, Granny’s house, the woods).

3. Get outside and get some exercise! If you can’t, get moving with some fairytale yoga.

Literacy: This weeks letter is Qq. Please have your child find or think of something that starts with the letter Q. Then grab some paper and crayons…draw and write the word! Don’t forget to send me a picture!! Below is the video for the day…it may help you think of words with a Q.
Math and Movement: Using the sidewalk chalk that was part of your package, go outside and draw a hopscotch board on the ground. Below is a video of how to play! As a challenge, instead of using 1-8 you could use 11-18 or any variation of 8 numbers. Be creative!

GSRP Interest Form
ATTENTION All FAMILIES WITH A FOUR-YEAR-OLD CHILD
Dearborn Schools offers a Free Preschool Program GSRP is a free program for all eligible families and is designed to give a high quality preschool experience prior to Kindergarten. Eligibility is primarily based on family income (federal poverty level), life experiences and child’s age. If your child’s birth date is between December 2, 2015 to December 1, 2016, your child may qualify for this program. If you would like to be sent information about registration for the 2020-2021 school year please fill in the GSRP Interest Form 2020-2021 and someone will contact you as we start the registration process.
