A Few Reminders

First, we will be NWEA Testing this week, except for Thursday. We will complete any make-ups next week. Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, breakfast, and a snack every day.

Thursday, we are going on our Canoe Field Trip, so remember to pack a lunch.

Turn in your Summer Reading Logs if you haven’t already. We will have the ice cream reward this Friday.

Clarifications

A couple questions came up at Open House on Wednesday, I will share:

If my child doesn’t understand the math homework, what should I do?

Send in incomplete back to school with a note, I will touch base/reteach if needed with your child that day in class.

What is the ABC Chart?

The ABC Chart is a work in progress on your child analyzing their classroom behavior for the day. Look at it everyday, discuss with your child, see why he/she analyzed themselves that way. WE are in charge of ourselves, we can only control our reactions to people and situations around us. Sign the ABC Chart every weekend only.

Thank you for your questions, for those of you who were able to come, thank you. For those of who couldn’t, until next time. 🙂

Reminders

Math Homework is page 12, problems 3 and 4

We wrote in our planners our assignments, also sign your child’ planner, so I know you saw it.

We started our ABC chart, take a look at the ABC’s Our Day page on this blog, it will explain everything. The ABC Chart is on the backside of your child’s black folder.

Open House is tomorrow evening from 6 – 7:30 P.M followed by a PTA Meeting. Come take a look at our classroom. 🙂

Updates

We decided on some classroom rules today:

Treat people who you want to be treated.

Use proper language in school.

Use materials properly while walking.

Always raise your hand, wait to be called on before talking.

If someone else is talking, don’t talk over them.

Follow directions.

Listen to someone the first time they say “stop” or “no”.

Keep your hands to yourself.

No teasing people in our building.

Be truthful.

Friday, August 23

Students and parents, I will not be at school on Friday for Popsicles on the Playground, because I have a funeral to attend in Grand Rapids. I would much rather be at school, handing out sweet treats to all of your smiling faces. While it is unfortunate I will not be able to meet with you this week, I am excited to meet and see you on the first day of school on Monday. 🙂
