Pumpkin Fundraiser for Michigan Make A Wish

Teacher’s decorated pumpkins to be raffled off for Make A Wish.  Raffle tickets for the Make A Wish Pumpkin Fundraiser are available in classrooms or the art room starting Wednesday, October 26..  Each ticket is a quarter.  Please remember that this is a raffle, there will only be one winner per pumpkin, but everyone that buys tickets wins by helping donate to the Michigan Chapter of the Make A Wish Foundation!  Last day for ticket sales is Monday, October 31, in the morning!!!  Winning tickets will be pulled at lunch with the pumpkins going home at the end of the day!  Thanks for helping out a very worthy cause!

Book Fair This Week!

Snow Families!

The Scholastic Book Fair starts this week. We have a great selection of books to choose from this fall and hope you can make it in to see us. Students will be visiting with their classes Tues. thru Thurs., and the book fair will also be open Mon., Wed. & Thurs. after school until4pm. Then we will be open Fri. morning for last-minute shoppers from 8:30 to 11am.

Included with the flyer sent home last week was a baggie for our “All for Books Campaign.” Collect any loose change from home, put in the baggie and bring in to class. The class that raises the most money will get to wrap Dr. Groover up like a mummy!
Our Family Halloween Night is Tues., Oct. 25 from 6 to 8pm. Please join us for lots of spooky fun. You can shop at the book fair (in the media center), purchase delicious baked goods at our bake sale and play Halloween themed games in the gym.

Does your Child have a b/d confusion?

Here is a cute poster you could make with your child if they confuse the letters b and d.  Ask your child to write the letter b and then read the phrase “Bat before the ball.” And have your child illustrate the b with a bat and a ball.  Then ask your child to write the letter d.  Then read the phrase “Doorknob before the door.”  Then illustrate the d like a door and a doorknob.

NEW MYON Login Directions

Dearborn has tried to make locating MYON and MOBYMax easier for families.  

Please try these directions tonight with your child and encourage them to read for 20 minutes.

  1. Go to the Dearborn Public School Home Page (click this link)

2. Then SCROLL down on the left side until you see CLEVER (blue link).

3.Click CLEVER (blue link)

4. Then it will ask student to ALLOW the computer to use their student number.  CLICK ALLOW

5. Then: it will  need to find your Dearborn Schools Google account.  You must enter your student number@dearbornschools.org, THEN your password (birthday).  This is different then how it is done at school.

6. MYON and MOBY MAX icon links will be live to Click.

IF you have an IPad or tablet you want to use for MYON you will need to click on the tablet (BLUE BOX) next to your avatar. When you click the tablet it will give you a secret code for you to login.
