Report cards – I just realized that I forgot to pass out the report cards on Friday.  I will pass them out on Monday when we return.  You can check Parent Connect if you need the information sooner.

Standardized Testing Coming up

NWEA testing will be April 19th – 24th for 2nd and 3rd grade

MSTEP testing will be May 8th – 12th for 3rd grade

MobyMax Contest – In order to prepare for the NWEA and MSTEP we are having another MobyMax contest.   All students who average 15 minutes a day over the break, starting April 1st will get a prize.   Concentrate on the Test Prep skills and Vocabulary, however all sections are beneficial.

Don’t forget tomorrow is PJ day.  Wear your pajamas, bring your favorite books and stuffed animal.

Rescheduled conferences – Conferences will be Wednesday, April 12th.  I will use the same schedule as before attached are your conference times Spring Parent Teacher Conferences 2017

All conferences are cancelled tonight.  I’m am sick and need to go home.  I will contact you to reschedule after break.

As we get ready for testing season we will start having Moby Max contests as a way to inpire the students to practice MobyMax in preparation for the MSTEP and NWEA testing which will begin in April.

This week we have 2 contests going.  I started a classroom contest over the weekend which includes 3rd grade math and Mrs. Keebler’s students.   The top 5 winners will get prizes on Friday.  Today Hassan B., Ali B.,  Angelina, Abraham and Danny are in the lead.

There is also a MobyMax contest for a “Tower of Treats” and a $10 Dairy Queen gift card.  Contest Results: MobyMax Spring Math and Language Challenge.  The top person today was Ali Badaoui.  His amount was given to MobyMax for the drawing each morning this week.

Keep up the good work everyone!   Everyone is a winner because this will help increase your scores.

Don’t forget to wear a shirt with writing on Tuesday.  Pajama day is Friday, bring your favorite books to read.

Grade+2+PRE+Test+Unit+8 – Study guide

There will be a 2nd grade math test this Friday, March 31.   Practice tests went home last week.

Book Fair is this week – Tuesday is preview day, Wednesday is Shopping day, Thursday is Make up day

Report Cards will go home on Wednesday – If you have a conference you will pick them up at conferences.

Unit 6 Study Guide and Answers

Spelling Homework and Reading Log – I found out today that many students were not able to print their Reading Logs and Spelling Homework, due to the power outage.  So I decided that printing them today would give the students enough time to complete everything.

• Therefore, if your student completed a reading log for this week it will count as extra credit.
• There will be a new reading log passed out on Friday.
• Week 22 spelling will be tested on Friday.
• Week 23 spelling will be printed and passed out on Friday.
• If your student printed Week 23 and turns it in by Wednesday they will get a click up.

• Because Micah only got 3 days for Star of the Week, he will finish up his week this week.
• Javier will be Star of the Week starting on Monday, 3/20
• Zahraa will be Star of the Week starting on Monday 3/27
• Alecia will be Star of the Week starting on Monday, 4/10
• Sarah will be Star of the Week starting on Monday, 4/17

Word Game day – Monday was Word Game day, the sub did not have the students play word games on Monday, so I would like to reschedule it for Friday 3/17.  They should also wear green on Friday.

Coffee papers – I apologize for any papers that you get back that are covered in coffee.  It looks like there was a coffee spill all over my desk when I was gone on Monday.
