3rd grade Social Studies Test of Thursday 5/25 – There are 3 different ways you can study.

Study Guide – 3rd Unit E4 Study Guide

Vocabulary Flash Cards – 3rd grade Unit 4 Word cards

Quizlet – These are the same flashcards – but you can play games, study flash cards or take a quiz to study.  https://quizlet.com/204140589/3rd-grade-unit-4-social-studies-flash-cards/

2nd Grade Math test Wednesday

Field Day on Thursday – 5/25 – 1:30-2:30 – Volunteers needed

Egypt Research Projects – Each child has been assigned a topic to research about Egypt.  They should be creating a report that will be about a page typed.  About 3-4 paragraphs that have 3-5 sentences each.  They may present their project in almost any format (poster board, PowerPoint, word document, or if they have another method they would like to present please ask first).    They may also make an artifact to show with their project if they wish.   They should also write 3 of the most important facts in the shared file that I have made in Google classroom. These will be the facts they share with the school during the presentation on June 8th.   The parents are invited to come see our projects.  I will let you know that date soon.

Butterflies – I brought the Chrysalises home over the weekend because I was afraid they might hatch over the weekend.  I was right!  Two have hatched, unfortunately one of the ones from the bottom was unable to get her will opened because she was not hanging and able to dry them properly.  And now her wings are crumpled.    I posted pictures of both of them on Class Dojo.

Class Dojo – If you have not signed up yet, you are missing a lot of fun things.  We have pictures of the Brainstormers Assembly, the Color Run, Mother’s day flowers, our “trip” to Egypt, and now our new butterflies.  We will also be using Class Dojo to learn about mindfulness and we will be sharing things to discuss at home.

Happy Mother’s Day – I hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing day!

MSTEP – We will be completing the Reading section of the MSTEP on Monday and maybe Tuesday.  We need headphones/earbuds for this section.  If anyone who can bring in a pair for themselves it would be greatly appreciated.  Please remember to send your student well rested with a good breakfast and healthy lunch, remember please reduce the amount of sugar to little or nothing so they don’t get an afternoon sugar crash during the test.

Late Start – Wednesday 5/17

Egypt Cultural Night – We are beginning to make our plans and assign parts for our Egyptian Cultural Night.  I will be on June 8th at 5:30.  We are doing it earlier, with no food so that families can get home in time to make their preparations to break their fast during Ramadan.  If there is anyone who will not be able to be in the performance that evening and should NOT be assigned a part please let me know right away.

Class Dojo – About 25% have signed up for Class Dojo.  It is a great program!  We have pictures up there of the color run, Brainstormer’s assembly, and some wanted pictures of themselves with their Mother’s day flowers.  You can sign up by following the link in the attached document and putting in the specific code for your child.  You can also see a behavior report each day.ClassDojo parent invites for Mrs. Keebler’s class-1

Class Dojo – We are using a new program in our class called Class Dojo.  It is a way to share fun things (pictures and videos) that are happening at school.  It is also a way to keep track of behavior.  We will no longer be using the clip chart.  We will use Class Dojo instead and you will be able to see how well your student is doing each day.  Please click on the link below and find your child’s name and code in the document.  Please sign up for Class Dojo right away.

Color Run – This kids had a great color run!  I have posted some pictures  on Class Dojo.  Please make sure you sign up to see them.

Brainstormers Writing Assembly – We had our assembly on Monday.  The students got to celebrate our school authors by acting out the stories they wrote in January.  Abraham’s story – The Sticky Situation was picked to present and Mohammed and Ms. Stephanie from preschool were among the people who got to act in the story.  There are some pictures on Class Dojo and I’m trying to post the video also.

MSTEP – We started MSTEP testing today.  We began with the math and will finish math tomorrow.  If there is time we will begin the math performance task.  We will all need headphones on Thursday for the Language Arts portion.  If you have headphones to send in that would be greatly appreciated since many of ours are broken.  We will take a break from MSTEP on Friday and finish up on Monday and Tuesday.
