Missing Assignments

Hello Everyone,

I’m sorry that we were a little late coming outside today.   I have not been getting as much cooperation from the students this past couple of weeks.    On Wednesdays we have Music until 3:15 and we must listen carefully and  act quickly to get everything accomplished to get outside on time.  Please speak to your child about following directions the first time given and not talking when they need to be listening.

I also wanted to make sure that everyone had the most up-to-date missing assignment report.   All missing assignments are due tomorrow 1-28.

I stayed until 6 PM tonight to make sure that all assignments have been recorded.  If it is on the missing assignment list, they have NOT turned it in.  There is an updated missing assignment list on the blog in the Missing Assignment section or check your  Parent Connect.  Anything not turned in tomorrow will become a zero.  This will affect their grade.

Opinion Writing Uniform – The only assignments that I have not looked at everyone are the Opinion Writing Uniform.   If your student has this on their list, please ask them to open it in Google Docs.   Click on my comments and see if they have done what I asked them to do in the comment section.  Please make sure they have completed the assignment stated below.  Then they may  share it with me again.

Here is the assignment: The topic is should Howe become a Uniform school.  Opinion writing. It needs 3 separate paragraphs, the first is an introduction with a their opinion statement, the 2nd should have 3 reasons and details the 2nd paragraph should use transition words like First, next, and finally, the 3rd paragraph should restate their opinion and their 3 reasons in one sentence.

Don’t forget Friday is a Spirit Wear Day and a 1/2 day.  Dismissal at 11:45

NWEA MAP testing

NWEA MAP Testing – The MAP testing window will begin after the holiday break.  We will beginning preparing for the NWEA MAP testing this week.  We will be using MobyMax to prepare for the test.   They should log into MobyMax as usual, then go to the Test Prep button, pick the subject to work on and get started.  I would also like them to practice in the science section.   I REALLY hope that students will continue to practice getting ready for the test over the break.  I would be wonderful if they could spend up to 15 minutes on each subject per day.  This can be broken up into small chunks.  MobyMax should work on most devises iPads, laptops and maybe even phones, so they can work on it even if you are out and about.  Please explain that the test is part of their report card grade and they should try their best.  If we practice hard and try our best we should see a great increase in our scores.
