Field Trip – January 22nd

I have scheduled our next trip to go with the economics unit we are now studying in social studies and the science we will cover this spring.  We will be visiting the Ford Rouge Factory tour and IMAX show.  We will gather at the school at 9:15, we will drive personal cars to the Henry Ford.  Our IMAX show “Flight of the Butterflies” will start at 10 am then we will eat lunch and take the bus to the factory.  The self guided tour has 5 parts and takes about 2-2.5 hours.  I visited this summer with my daughters and we really enjoyed it.

I will send the permission slip out on Monday, January 6th and I must pay the museum by January 8th so I need the slips and money returned right away.  The PTA has offered to pay $5 for every student, so our trip will only cost $7 instead of $12.  Thanks PTA!   Please send cash in an envelope with your child’s name on it.  Please send exact change.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday vacation!

I’m sick

Dear Parents,

I have a sore throat and a cold and I will not be in today.  I am very sad that I will be missing the concert and the party.  However, Rachel Nicolajevs will be my substitute, so everything should go smoothly.  Have a wonderful time making gingerbread houses and take pictures for me.  I will hopefully be back tomorrow so I can give the students their presents from me, if not I will save them for after break.  I hope everyone has a wonderful, restful holiday and vacation.

Holiday Concert – NEW TIME!

Hello Everyone,

The concert will be at 9:15 instead of 9:30 as previously posted.   Ms. Case said she will start right at 9:15 so please arrive on time.

Please send in your supplies for the party tomorrow, if possible, so if something is missing I can ask someone to get it or buy it myself.

Parent helpers needed to set up for the gingerbread houses before the concert.  If you are available please let me know.  THANKS!

Concert dress is dressy like attending a fancy party or wedding.  However, gingerbread houses might be a little messy.

Thanks, Katie Keebler

Gingerbread Houses

Thanks to everyone who has signed up or already brought in supplies for our Gingerbread houses and party.

If you have not signed up for anything we are still in need of more frosting, red hots, cookies, cupcakes, and gum drops.  My daughters and I made a gingerbread house this weekend and we found the following items also very useful:

  • Twizzlers cherry red licorice (the kind that can be pulled apart into skinny strings),
  • straight pretzel sticks
  • mini marshmallows
  • teddy grahams
  • gummy bears and fish

Hamster cage

Hi Everyone,

In Max’s travels to different houses his aquarium got cracked on the bottom.  I have a new aquarium for him but I’m concerned about this one cracking also.

Does anyone have a hamster cage they are no longer using?  I would love for Max to have a travel cage so that we don’t have to transport the glass one anymore.

A few kids have told me they would like to bring Max home for the weekend.  If you are interesting taking Max home to your house, please email or send a note.  I will not send him home unless I have heard directly from the parent.

Thanks!

Mrs. Keebler

New look for the blog

Dear Parents,

There were some problems navigating the menus on my previous blog.  Therefore, I decided to change the look of the blog.  Hopefully this will eliminate the problem.  All the same information will be on the blog.

Please let me know if you have any problems with this blog.

I will give another set of prizes out to anyone who uses Study Island tonight.
