Week of Monday, December 18th

6th grade classes: Students in A day will play Jeopardy to review for their Arabic test on Wednesday of this week. We had a snow day on Thursday which delayed this exam. B day will start American Sign Language culture and greetings on Tuesday. On Thursday, students will learn about American Sign Language numbers. On Friday, A day will learn about American Sign Language culture and greetings. All work on all pages should be complete by the test date for A day. I will be collecting packets then. Continue to study Quizlet.com for all terms we have been learning in class.

7th & 8th grade Conversational Spanish: Students will play Jeopardy to prepare for the unit 5 test on Wednesday, December 20th. On Tuesday, students will practice verbal conversations using Screencastify during class. All unit 5 notes and cultural slides are posted on Google Classroom. Use Quizlet to study each day. Unit 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4 will be our study sets this week. Please check Parent Connect to see if your child is missing any assignments.

8th grade Yearlong: Students will complete a chapter review activity on Monday to prepare for the chapter test on Thursday. Students will play Jeopardy on Tuesday. On Wednesday, students will complete verbal conversations using Screencastify using Chromebooks. Students will learn about the culture of Navidad on Friday. Please continue to be studying the notes. Week of Monday, December 11th

6th grade classes: Students will learn about vocabulary on page 6 of their packets and learn about culture on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Students who are absent will fill out the culture answers on Google Classroom (page 7). Students will play Jeopardy on Wednesday and Thursday of this week to prepare for the test. B day will have their test on Friday, December 15th. A day will have their test on Monday December 18th. All work on all pages should be complete by the test date. I will be collecting packets then. We will then go into depth using grammar to talk about which item we like “more.” Notes will be posted on Google Classroom. Use Quizlet to study each day. 8th grade Yearlong: Students will learn to use the preposition “de.” Students will have a writing assignments on Wednesday. Chapter Review will be completed on Thursday. Students will have their Ch. 2 Grammar 2 quiz on Friday. Notes will be posted on Google Classroom. Please continue to be studying the notes. Week of Monday, December 4th

This week…

6th grade classes: The previous week, students started the Arabic unit. We learned about greetings on Monday and Tuesday, culture on Wednesday and Thursday. They started numbers on Friday. A day will continue to learn about numbers on Monday of this week. We will then learn about days of the week on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, students will learn about colors. Homework that should be completed are pages 1-4 by the end of the week. Page 5 (the top) would have been completed the previous week. Any cultural information can be found in Google Classroom if a student were absent. Continue to study Quizlet.com for all terms we have been learning in class.

Week of Monday, November 20th (2 days) and Week of Monday, November 27th

6th grade classes: On Monday (B day) and on Tuesday (A day) will take their test in French. Homework will be collected. If a student was absent work is on Google Classroom. The following week, students will start the Arabic unit. We will learn greetings on Monday and Tuesday. Homework will be to complete page 1. Numbers 1-10 will be taught on Wednesday and Thursday. Homework will be page 2. On Friday, B day will learn about the days and months. Homework will be page 3. Remind students to complete the French Google Slide summative assignment on Google Classroom if it was not turned in this week. Continue to study Quizlet.com for all terms we have been learning in class.

7th & 8th grade Conversational Spanish: Students will learn to conjugate the verbs this week. They will take 4.4 notes. Study 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 on Quizlet this week. The following week, students will learn the difference using infinitives and conjugated verbs in sentence structure. Additional vocabulary notes will be taken (4.5). We will complete activities (on Google Classroom) and take the test on Friday, December 1st for Unit 4. Please check Parent Connect to see if your child is missing any assignments.

8th grade Yearlong: Students will read a cultural article on Monday and answer questions in Spanish. On Tuesday, they will take their Ch. 2 Grammar 1 quiz. The following week, students will begin to learn additional “describing words” in chapter 2 vocab 2 notes. Notes will be posted on Google Classroom. Please continue to be studying the notes. Week of Monday, November 13th

6th grade classes: On Monday, A day will learn about culture in French. Homework will be to complete pages 5 & 6 if students were absent. Work will be completed in class. On Tuesday (B day) and Wednesday (A day), students will learn about French culture through a slide presentation during class. Remind students to complete the Google Slide summative assignment on Google Classroom. 6th grade classes: On Monday, A day will learn about colors in French. Homework will be to complete page 4. On Wednesday (B day) and Thursday (A day), students will learn about family & body in French. There will be a Google Slide summative assignment on Google Classroom. We will complete pages 5, 6 & 7 in class this week and next. Anything not complete will be homework. Please use Quizlet daily to study French greetings, numbers, days & months, and colors.

8th grade Yearlong: Students will continue to learn about adjectives this week. They will learn how to ask about birthdays and ages. Also, they will take notes about the verb “ser” (to be) and gender & adjective agreement. Please continue to be studying the notes. Week of Monday, October 30th

Homework will be to complete page 3. On Thursday (A day) and Friday (B day) students will learn about colors in French. Homework will be to complete page 4. Please use Quizlet daily to study French greetings, numbers, days & months, and colors. Grades will be submitted by November 3rd for the 1st card marking period report cards.

I would like all missing work to be in by Wednesday, November 1st.

Week of Monday, October 23rd

6th grade classes: On Monday, A day will play Jeopardy to prepare for the German test. On Tuesday (B day) and Wednesday (A day), students will complete their German unit assessment. It will focus on greetings, colors, numbers (1-10), days & months, and culture. Family & body projects (in German) are due the day of the test. I will also be collecting the German packets. Make sure all pages are completed. Some assignments can be accessed on Google Classroom for articles. Please use Quizlet to study German greetings, numbers, days & months, and colors.

Students will then begin learning culture and vocabulary about days of the week and going places the following days.

The end of the card marking period ends in 2 weeks: Friday, November 3rd. Students will play Jeopardy on Monday to review for the test. On Tuesday, they will complete Screencastify with partners (speaking activities). The test will be on Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, they will begin learning about the culture of Puerto Rico.

Week of Monday, October 16th

6th grade classes: On Monday and Tuesday, B & A day will be learning about German family and body vocabulary. A family project will be assigned. Directions will be on Google Classroom. The project will be due one week for the date of assignment. On Wednesday and Thursday, students will learn about German culture. Page 7 will be homework if not completed in class. The article will be posted on Google Classroom. B day will play Jeopardy on Friday. They will have their German test on Tuesday, October 24th. A day will play Jeopardy next Monday and will have their test on Wednesday, October 25th. Please use Quizlet to study German greetings, numbers, days & months, and colors.

Week of Monday, October 9th

6th grade classes: On Monday, B day will be learning German numbers. Numbers 1-10 will be assessed at the end of the unit. On Tuesday and Wednesday, students will learn about German days and months. Page 3 will be homework. The next two days, students will learn about German colors. Page 4 will be assigned that day. Please use Quizlet to study German greetings, numbers, days & months, and colors.
