No School for Memorial Day Weekend

There will be no remote school on Friday, May 22-Monday, May 25 in observance of the holiday weekend. Best wishes to all our families for a Happy Memorial Day weekend and a Happy Eid Mubarak to those who are celebrating. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Missing work – Please check your student’s parent connect for missing assignments. If they have turned in work after the due date please let me know which assignments have been completed, so I can grade and record their scores.

Weekly Meetings – please remember students are being graded on participation in classwork and in attendance of the weekly meetings. If your student is unable to attend please let me know. I worry about your students when I don’t see them regularly. If you missed the meeting today we watched a Mystery Science Live Chat of Doug talking to an astronaut on the International Space station. I recorded it for you to see if you missed it. Yesterday we read an article from ReadWorks and I attached the assignment to Google Classroom.

NEW MEETING Times

Hi Everybody, There are certain meeting times that have been getting bad sound and I have had several parents say their students are still sleeping during our meeting times. I am moving all meetings later, to accommodate sleep schedule and I hope for better sound quality in our meetings. Meetings are a required part of our school and you will be graded on how often you attend. If you are not attending meetings your score could go down, so please let me know when you can’t attend a meeting.

Less work – This week I have also cut back our work. We will be doing writing as part of social studies, so there is no extra writing and I have cut out fact fluency this week. We are only doing social studies this week and no science.
