Howe currently has no power.  They are working on fixing it before school starts tomorrow.  We will keep you posted about if there will be school or not.

Glasses found – a few weeks ago, if they belong to your child they are in the office.  Ask Ms. Bernadette. – 

Student of the Month – Congratulations to Gabriel!  He was chosen as Student of the Month for March.  He had 97% positive behavior and did a good job completing his work.

Star of the Week – starting Monday is Zahraa.

Math test Unit 7 – The Unit 7 Math test went home on Friday.  There were a few students that might want to do a retake to improve their scores.  If your student did not bring home their test you can see the scores on Parent Connect.   Student 19 didn’t complete the test and should study.  Here is a copy of the study guide to do a retake on Monday – 3rd+Grade+Pre-Test+Unit+7

Moby Max Contest – I will be giving prizes each week for the student using MobyMax the most.  I am adding a new prize this week for the student that increases their score the most this week.  Practicing Moby Max will help your child do better on the upcoming MSTEP and NWEA tests.  Now with the new prize they can earn a prize for doing better than they did last week.

MSTEP Testing will be on May 1st and 3rd ELA and May 8th and 10th Math.

Spelling – The week 27 Spelling activities are posted on iLearn.

Earrings found – One of our paras found some silver earrings on the ground today.  I think it could be one of our Honors Choir students.   If you know who they might belong to please send the student to the music room to claim them.  Thanks and have a great weekend!

Opinion Essays are due tomorrow – We have been working on this for a couple of weeks.  The assignment is on Google Classroom with a Flow Map of what should be in each section and a sample essay to help also.  I will be grading all of the essays over the weekend.  Check with your student to see if they completed their work, followed the Flow Map and submitted it on Google classroom.

Missing Work – Please check your Parent Connect for missing work.  I am putting in a lot of grades today.

District Common Assessment in Social Studies – We will be taking this assessment on Tuesday, 4/10 when we return to school,  Here is a copy of the study guide for the Growth of Michigan assessment.  Students should also review the Growth of Michigan student book online in the about section of Google Classroom. 3rd Unit 4 Study Guide Growth of Michigan

Reading Log – A new reading log with 5 entries will be due on 4/11.

Spelling – Week 26 Spelling activities are now available on iLearn.

MobyMax contest – Right now the following students are in the lead for our contest:

Celine, Alecia, Hussain, Zahraa, Sven – I will be giving prizes for the top 5 students that spent the most time on Moby Max by the end of the contest on April 27th – so keep up the good work.

Test Prep – Remember the MobyMax contest helps your student prepare for the upcoming exams – MSTEP and NWEA.  These exams are part of the application process for the STEM school for those who are interested in moving in that direction.  Even if your student is not going to STEM it is important to do their best on their upcoming test and should be practicing MobyMax every day.

Star of the Week for next week is Johnell. 

The person that sign up for the guinea pigs over break just told me that can’t take them after all.  If anyone would like to have them over break please send me a Class Dojo message right away.

March is reading month Olympics paper is due tomorrow. Students will receive a metal based on their level of activities.  Students with no paper will get no metal.

Extra recess- there will be extra recess tomorrow for students that have completed all of their work.  I will be putting in a lot of papers tonight.  Check Parent Connect to make sure all their assignments are in.

Spelling – no vocab match this week do abc order for regular credit not extra credit

Spring Break – March 30-April 8th

Spelling Test on Thursday  3/29- Next week is a short week so I will make the ABC order assignment optional and students will get extra credit if it is complete.  I have uploaded the Practice test and ABC order.  I’m sick and need to rest before I complete Vocabulary match later today or tomorrow, depending how I feel.

MSTEP – April 30-May 11 – In a few short weeks we will be taking the M-STEP test this is the state test the replaced the MEAP testing a few years ago.  We will not be testing every day.

Moby Max Test Prep practice –   To prepare for the test we will be doing Moby Max Test Prep.  We will be doing this instead of SRAs and Towers for a few weeks.  The Test Prep icon is Dark Green in the second row.  This can be done at school and at home.  I will even spice things up with a Moby Max contest and give prizes for the students that practice the most.
