Mid-Module Assessment on Monday 5/6 – Here is the study guide.  A paper copy was also sent home.

M-STEP Math Testing next – Monday 5/6 and Thursday 5/9.  Please practice with the M-STEP practice on Google classroom or with Moby Max.  Please make sure your child has a good breakfast and is well rested.

Teacher Appreciation Sweet Supplies – On the teacher appreciation paper is mentions bringing in a school supply.  We are short on tissues, dry erase markers (thin tip), prizes for the prize box,  colored pencils, Legos or games for indoor recess, extra snack if someone forgets (crackers or something that can stay fresh awhile).  Thanks for all your generosity!

Ramadan – If your child is interested in trying to fast during Ramadan they must have a permission slip.  I don’t recommend fasting on testing days.

Tomorrow we will meet at the Greenfield Village.  There is no reason to come to the school unless you are driving another student and need to meet them.  Feel free to make arrangement to meet elsewhere.

We are supposed to be at the Henry Ford  about 8:50 for a 9 AM bus to the Factory Tour.  We will meet at the clock tower between the movies and the village.  Please do not get on the bus without the group.

Reminders – pack a lunch, wear red or school shirt, bring an umbrella or raincoat.

12:00 Meet across from the Clock by the Custard shop near the Carousel.  Turn in your scavenger hunt and then you are free to explore the village as long as you like the village is open until 5 PM.     Please check in with me with Class Dojo when you are planning on leaving.

4:00 PM  HELP NEEDED – Butterfly Garden soil is being delivered at the school in the back parking lot where pick up and drop off happens.  Helpers are needed to bring the bags of dirt into the courtyard for the garden planting next week.

Butterfly Garden – Our soil for our butterfly garden is being delivered on Wednesday May 1st at 4 PM.  I need parent (and kid) helpers who can help bring it from the parking lot to the garden.  We will have a cart and it is in bags.  Please email me at keeblek@dearbornschools.org if you are able to help.  THANKS!!!!

MSTEP Practice – We have been practicing for M-STEP in school.  If you student didn’t finish or you would like them to practice more at home here is the link to practice.  The Username and password are listed above the login.

MSTEP testing – we will be testing on Tuesday, April 30th and Thursday, May 2nd.  Please make sure your child is well rested and eats a good breakfast.

Greenfield Village and Ford Factory Tour – I have our tickets and wrist bands.  We need to be at the bus stop between the theater and the village.

Class Book order – If you are interested in buying a class book please turn in the form by tomorrow 4/26.

Autobiographies and Self-Portraits – MUST be turned in tomorrow.  I will put the book together over the weekend and ship it.

M-STEP Practice – we will be practicing this week for M-STEP which begins next week.

STEAM workshop – Tuesday 4/23- the students will be participating in a fun STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) workshop.  Volunteers are still needed to help run the station!!!  Please contact the office if you can help.

Late Start – Wednesday 4/24 – please arrive 1 hour later

Class Book Orders Due 4/24 – if you would like a copy of the book that is creating.  Students are writing autobiographies and drawing self-portraits for the book. Order forms went home Friday.

Book Publishing – Parent Editors needed – please  make sure your student finishes the autobiography and self-portrait.  Please read it over and help them edit it.

Publishing a Book – I’m very excited to announce that I found a company that will publish a book for our class.  A REAL hard cover book!!  Every student is writing an autobiography and drawing a self-portrait that will be included in the book.  I am sending home order forms today so you can order a copy for your family, if you wish.  We need to get them returned right away by 4/24, so we can ship out the book and get it published and printed before the end of the school year.   The company has asked that everyone return the paper even if you are not choosing to purchase the book.  I have a sample book if you are interested in seeing what it will look like.  The sample is from another class not ours.

Report Cards – Will be passed on Monday.  Sorry things go busy on Friday and I forgot to pass them.

Parent Connect – Please teach your child how to use Parent Connect.  It would be much easier for everyone if they could check their own missing work, rather than them waiting for me to tell them it is missing.  Then they could check it during class and complete the work in school.

Greenfield Village and Ford Factory Tour – May 1st – 9:00 – Please make sure you return you permission slip for our field trip.  Please make sure that you specify who will be chaperoning and driving your child.  There is no longer a bus since we switched days.  If you are members and don’t want to pay then, you will just need to get your tickets for the factory tour $15.25 and $13.50 wristbands for the rides separately (all rides except the carousel require an adult to ride also).  The price for me to purchase them for you would be cheaper, your factory tour  $10 and wristband for rides are $5.  The deadline for me to purchase adult tickets is TOMORROW.  I must have all permission slips AND money by tomorrow 4/15.

Congratulations to our top readers for the month – Adeline won for the girls and Ahmed A. won for the boys.  They will be entered in a drawing for the bike prize tomorrow.

Greenfield Village Trip – 86% voted to move the trip.  The new date is May 1st.  I will send out a permission slip as soon as we return.  There will be no bus and you need to find someone who will drive your child if you can’t attend.  Be sure to let me know who they are driving with on the slip.

Math quiz on M4 Topic C study guide is going home today.  We will take the quiz tomorrow.

March Book – it logs due by tomorrow. This is the last month for Book-it.

Pizza Party – We will be having a pizza party tomorrow, thanks to Ali’s mom, to celebrate all the great reading we did for Book it and March is Reading Month.  We will do this at noon so your student should not need to bring a lunch but a good snack should be good.  Thanks Ali’s mom!!!
