I have decided that I will be retiring. This has been a very hard decision for me. I love Howe school! I started working here in the year 2000! Howe School is like my family! However, my actual family really needs me now. My 88-year-old parents are having a lot of health issues and are needing a lot more assistance from me now. We have had many doctor’s appointments this year, so I’ve decided the time has come for me to retire. I am right now working with the Office of Retirement Services to complete my paperwork and figure out the exact date of my retirement. I became eligible for retirement on my birthday in February. However, for consistency, I have decided that I plan to stay until the end of the school year and at this point in time I plan to teach summer school, bearing no unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, I’m not in control of which days I will be absent and will probably still be absent 1-4 times a month to take care of my parents. One of the days I need to miss is this Friday 3/21. But you are in great hands! Ms. Drennon will be there. Mr. Zamora will be in charge of everything and we have lots of chaperones. If anyone has any questions or concerns about anything, please let me know. I would be happy to talk to any parents that have questions. It is better if you have questions to talk to me directly than to talk to other people or to talk to the principal. I am the one with the most information about what is going on in our classroom. I love your students and our school tremendously, and I will greatly miss everyone at Howe school when I am gone.
