PLEASE START USING PARENT CONNECT- It will help you help your child be successful in school.
To make it easier to access Parent Connect, I have added a link on my blog. There is a tab on the right side of the Blog at the top that says Parent Connect, click there and there is a link directly to Parent Connect. If you don’t remember your student PIN, I can email it to you.
Hopefully, you know by now that a check in the upper right corner of the paper means that I have recorded the grade.
Since we are piloting this program we are still working out some of the glitches. Several parents have told me that they have gotten back papers with a check in the upper right corner but Parent Connect says that it was not turned in. I am not sure why this is happening. If you check your Parent Connect and you know your student has completed a work but it is not shown as recorded please return the paper with a note or send me an email that the assignment needs to be recorded again. Either there is a glitch in the computer program or I didn’t hit the submit button after recording the paper. It would be wise to check your child’s Parent Connect this weekend to make sure all the work is complete and recorded.
The Marking Period ends on Thursday, 1/22 and all incomplete assignments will be recorded as zeros (0) after that date. If there are many 0s it will significantly reduce their grade. I need your help as parents help your children understand the importance of completing their assignments in a timely matter and the importance of getting good grades. Please take an active role in praising your children for their good grades and encouraging them to complete their work neatly, completely and on time.
I am going to start taking 1 point away each day for work that is turned in late. They will have extra time if they are sick of course. I am also taking 1 point away if they do not put their name on their paper.
We all want our students to establish good study habits that will serve them well through the rest of their schooling. Thank you for your support in helping your child establish the habits needed to do well in school and in the rest of their life.
