District Schedule Change

Please note! The district has changed the half day that was originally scheduled for November 6 to October 30. As a result, there will be a half day of school on October 30 and a full day of school on November 6. We appreciate your understanding.

Learning Labs Suspended

Due to increasing Covid Positivity Rates in the county, Montessori in-person learning labs will be temporarily postponed until the rates improve. Virtual labs and special education program labs will continue as scheduled. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to keep our community healthy. Thank you!

An Apology and A Reminder

I AM SORRY ABOUT THE 12:30 ZOOM MEETING BEING MESSED UP AND SOME STUDENTS WERE UNABLE TO ATTEND.  I TRIED TO FIX IT IN REAL TIME, BUT THAT WASN’T WORKING. SO I DECIDED TO GO WITH THE SCIENCE LESSON AND THE STUDENTS WHO WERE ABLE TO GET INTO THE SESSION.  THANK YOU FOR THE EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS, DON’T WORRY, I COUNTED THOSE EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS AS PROOF YOU ATTENDED.

I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND YOU NOT TO CALL THE OFFICE, I MAY NOT BE IN THE BUILDING. THE OFFICE HAS NO WAY TO HELP WITH TECH ISSUES OR WITH ME MAKING A MISTAKE.  The ZOOM MEETING FAILURE WAS MY FAULT. I HAVE TO GO ON WITH A LESSON. IF YOUR CHILD WAS IN PERSON IN CLASS, NO ONE WOULD INTERRUPT, UNLESS IT WAS AN EMERGENCY. THE SCIENCE LESSON/ASSIGNMENT IS AVAILABLE ON SCHOOLOGY.

I DID GO THROUGH EACH LINK, SO I HOPE THINGS PROCEED SMOOTHLY FOR THE REST OF THIS WEEK.

I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND EVERYONE AGAIN THAT DURING ZOOM SESSIONS, IT IS WORK TIME.  I NEED THE STUDENTS’ FOCUS, WITH MATERIALS, BODIES, AND SPACES READY.  IF I SEE A CHILD WATCHING TV, PLAYING ON ANOTHER DEVICE, INTERACTING WITH OTHER CHILDREN, PLAYING WITH PILLOWS, OR NOT RESPONDING TO ME, I AM PUTTING THEM IN THE WAITING ROOM, OR KICKING THEM OFF THE ZOOM SESSION. IF IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY, I WILL BE EMAILING ADULTS, SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR CHILD IS DOING DURING A ZOOM MEETING.

A Couple of Updates

We will continue with NWEA Completion Tomorrow. A new schedule is going up on Schoology in the morning for Thursday. If your name is on the schedule then please be on the zoom call at your time.

NWEA Reading – 9:00 AM – Hussein, Maha, Hassan, Mariam B, Mohamad A., Mohammed A.

NWEA Math – 1:00 PM –

Batoul M., Hassan, Maha, Hussein

If NWEA doesn’t get finished tomorrow, you may finish next week in the afternoon.

Everyone else, you will be working on getting those assignments completed and turned into me. Also, read everyday. If you are all caught up with everything, including Zearn lesson 8, you may log onto IXL and complete independent work that has been starred in all 4 subjects.

On another note, I know there has been some confusion with some of the specials as far as signing on to zooms and/or completing assignments. If you have any difficulty with any of these, please email the specials teacher directly and they should be able to assist with any issues you may be having.

NWEA Test

We will have a Zoom Meeting at 9:00 and begin the Math NWEA test this morning. IF, there is a problem, DON’T call the office, EMAIL ME immediately, so I may help you.

STAY on the Zoom call and patiently wait for help. We all feel frustration during the set up of NWEA tests and even more so now. We were able to get through the majority of the test yesterday.

So many of the students pulled it together, waited for help, took a walk, and worked through testing at home. Your children are developing important skills in working with people, communicating with people, and working through a problem step by step without giving up. These are 21st century skills!
