Oakman Music Club members will be performing their version of “Pout Pout Fish” for our Y5s class on Monday, March 25. Below is a link to the story so that you can practice the song at home.
Oakman Music Club members will also be performing at our Spring Concert, April 18. Students can practice the songs at home by clicking the page to right labeled “Music Club.” We will be performing Waka Waka, We Know the Way and Cha Cha Slide on bucket drums.
4th grade students are working towards their black belt in our Recorder Karate Program. So far, we have learned how to play and read 8 notes on the recorder. We will be working on our next belt, Red Belt, which is “Peace Like a River.” Students will be asked to play the fast version with correct notes, rhythms, sound/pitch and left hand on top. Our concert featuring our Y5s, Kindergarten and 1st grade students is tomorrow, Thursday March 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the gym. Oakman friends and family are invited to attend.
We will be giving a concert based on the book “View at the Zoo” and each grade will be performing 3 songs. Several Oakman students grades Y5s-5th grade will be featured reading our story. We hope to see you there!

Check out the tab to the right of this page labeled “2nd and 4th Grade Concert Songs.” I have added all concert songs that we are working on during music class. You can practice them at home with the words and the music. Remember, we will be memorizing all of the words to the songs.
