4th graders are continuing their Recorder Karate Program. They should know how to play 7 different notes. Below is our Blue Belt Song, Old MacDonald. We will be testing on this song this week and the beginning of next week. If you have a recorder at home, take time to practice! Check out the tab to the right of this page labeled “2nd and 4th Grade Concert Songs.” I have added all concert songs that we are working on during music class. You can practice them at home with the words and the music. Remember, we will be memorizing all of the words to the songs.

These students will be presenting songs we have learned in music class from around the world. Parents are welcome and encouraged to come! Our Y5s, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students will be celebrating Music in Our Schools Month and March is Reading Month with a concert on Thursday, March 21 at 2:00 in the Oakman gym. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Please see the K-1 Concert Tab to the right to practice our concert songs at home. Hope to see you March 21!
Oakman Music Club Members –
Music Club meets Tuesday mornings 7:45-8:30. Please make sure you attend every week as we will be getting ready for performances in March and April! Music Club members will be learning new songs, playing xylophones and ending the year with playing ukuleles. Attendance is very important!
Two 4th or 5th graders will have the opportunity to play with the Dearborn Symphony when the 4th graders make a field trip to the orchestra in March. Students need to audition for Mrs. Faryniarz playing Ode to Joy on recorder. Below are the notes and music to practice at home. Please try to memorize! Happy practicing!
