6th & 7th graders: This is our last week! I will miss you all!
6th Grade Exploring Languages: A day will have their American Sign Language Test on Monday, January 13th. Their cultural food day will be on Wednesday, January 15th. They can bring in a dish that is Spanish, German, French or Arabic. Thank you! B day will have their test on Tuesday, January 14th. Their cultural food day will be on Thursday, January 16th. 7th & 8th Grade Conversational Spanish classes: 3rd hour will have their cultural food day on Thursday, January 16th. 5th hour will have thier cultural food day on Tuesday, January 14th. Students have a review sheet to use to study for the final exam. They can also go back and study all the Quizlets from units B & 1-7. 3rd hour will have their final exam on Tuesday & Wednesday of this week. 5th hour will have their exam on Wednesday & Thursday of this week.
8th grade Yearlong: Students will have their Chapter 3 vocab 1 quiz on Friday. The score will be input into the next card marking period in case there are students that will need to retake. The midterm is on January 24th. Students will be receiving study guides to look over information. Please look over Quizlets from chapter 1-3 as well. We will continue to be learning the vocabulary and grammar during the week. 🙂

6th Grade Exploring Languages: B day will start learning about American Sign Language numbers today. They will focus on greetings, days & months on Wednesday. On Friday, they will learn about ASL colors. Their test will be next Tuesday, January 14th. Their cultural food day will be on Thursday, January 16th. They can bring in a dish that is Spanish, German, French or Arabic. Students will sign up for food items next class so that not the same item is not brought in. Thank you! 7th & 8th Grade Conversational Spanish classes: Students will review 6.2 notes today. They will work on conjugating verbs tomorrow (6.3 notes). We will also learn “time frame” vocabulary on Wednesday. The final exam will be next week for the end of the semester. Please make sure to study using Quizlet.com. 8th grade Yearlong: Students will review culture on Texas today focusing on the people, culture, food & festivities. They will also learn new verbs for Chapter 3 vocab 1. The quiz on Texas will be this Friday, January 10th. We will learn to use gustar with verbs this week and identify vocabulary. Please be studying all vocabulary because the midterm will be coming up soon!
Week of Monday, Dec. 16th
6th Grade Exploring Languages: A day will start learning about American Sign Language culture & alphabet on Monday. We will review the alphabet on Wednesday and begin learning ASL numbers on Wednesday. The days of the week and months will be taught on Friday. 7th & 8th Grade Conversational Spanish classes: Students will take their unit 5 test today, Monday, December 16th. We will begin unit 6 tomorrow. Students will learn about months, stating the date, and stating additional verbs during certain seasons within the year. Please make sure to study using Quizlet.com. Students will have a variety of practice activities with partners, group work, & grammar activities during class this week.
8th grade Yearlong: Students will practice on Monday with a Jeopardy game. On Tuesday, they will take their chapter 2 test. We will then begin learning about Texas on Wednesday. Students will focus on the people, culture, food & festivities in Texas. On Friday, we will learn about Las Posadas in the Spanish-speaking world.
Week of Monday, December 9th
6th Grade Exploring Languages: B day will learn about Arabic culture on Monday. They will play Jeopardy on Wednesday to prepare for Friday’s test on our Arabic unit (12-13-19). Homework packets will be collected then as well. Study using Quizlet.com and study culture in the packet. A day will play Jeopardy on Tuesday and take the Arabic Test on Thursday, December 12th (12-12-19). Homework packets will be collected that day. Study using Quizlet.com as well as the culture found in the homework packets. We will begin our American Sign Language unit next week.
7th & 8th Grade Conversational Spanish classes: Students will review gustar in class today. Weather projects are due as well. Students will learn how to say “which object” they like more using Spanish grammar this week. They will perform speaking activities on Thursday and play Jeopardy on Friday. The test will be the following Monday, December 16th (12-16-19). Please make sure to study using Quizlet.com as well. Students will have a variety of practice activities with partners, group work, & grammar activities during class this week.
8th grade Yearlong: Students will take a grammar quiz on definite articles, gustar, porque & de this Friday (12-13-19). They will be completing grammar activities, chapter 2 review work, speaking activities with partners & a culture assignment. The chapter 2 test will be the following week.

6th Grade Exploring Languages: A will learn about Arabic days & months on Monday. After Thanksgiving break, students will meet on Monday again. They will learn about Arabic colors that day. Students will have a variety of practice activities with partners, group work, & grammar activities the following week after Thanksgiving break focusing on weather vocabulary & likes/dislikes using reflexive verbs.

Week of Monday, November 18th
6th Grade Exploring Languages: B day did not have their test last Tuesday because of the snow day. Their test was rescheduled for Monday, November 18th. A message was sent using Remind.com. They will begin learning Arabic greetings on Wednesday. On Friday, we will focus on Arabic numbers. A day will learn about Arabic greetings on Tuesday. They will learn about Arabic numbers on Thursday. Pages 1-2 should be complete in the packet for both A & B days. Study using Quizlet.com.
7th & 8th Grade Conversational Spanish classes: Students will practice conjugating verbs this week and using the infinitive form of verbs with “ir.” Frequency verbs will also be taught this week. The unit 4 test will be taken before Thanksgiving break. Students will have a variety of practice activities with partners, group work, & grammar activities. Quizlet 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 & 4.5 can be studied by the end of the week.

Monday, November 11th
6th Grade Exploring Languages: B day will have their French test on Tuesday. I will be collecting completed packets this day. The bottom of page 5 does not have to be completed. On Thursday, I will have a Professional Development at Dearborn High, and students will receive a cultural article on Middle Eastern culture to analyze with the substitute teacher. A day will present their family & body vocabulary Google Slides that were assigned a week ago. They will also learn about about French culture. Jeopardy will be on Wednesday and the French test will be on Friday. I will collected completed French packets then. Study using Quizlet.com for our French unit.

6th Grade Exploring Languages: There is no school on Tuesday because of Election Day. So, B day will meet Wednesday & Friday of this week. B day will learn about French food & places on Wednesday. German family projects on Google Slides are due Wednesday as well. Directions are posted on Google Classroom and these were assigned last Wednesday. Jeopardy will be played on Friday. The French test will be the following week. Completed packets will be collected then. A day will learn about French family & body vocabulary on Monday.
