Week of 3-5-18
Hello families!
What a snowy wintery day we have today! Spring will be here soon (hopefully 😉 . March will be a busy month! Sent home last week was a calendar for March is reading month. As said in the announcement on Remind, it will be adjusted because of the snow/ice day last week Friday. First chapter questions will start tomorrow. Books will be sent home today to the oldest child in DuVall. If you want to be a mystery reader, please send in the yellow sheet from the packet with your child. But PLEASE do not tell your child as it is a mystery! Also, please send in your weekly reading minutes every Friday! The class with the most reading minutes (from K-2) will win a pizza party!
Here is what we will be doing in school this week!
Math: continue unit 7 on 3-D and 2-D shapes. Learning characteristics of each shape too.
Social studies: We started a unit called “who am I?”. Similarities and differences between your child and someone else. Characteristics such as do you have a brother? sister? are you the oldest, middle, or youngest? etc
Science: continuing unit on weather. How can we warm up a frozen playground? and how can you walk across pavement without burning your feet in the summer?
Writing: We started learning about penguin facts! Our door is decorated with penguins and a fact for our march is reading month door!
Spelling: -en word family- ten, men, pen, wren, den and sight words look, has.
Looking forward:
