Week of 12/4/2017
Hello families of room 107! I cannot believe December is already here! The cold is coming! So just a friendly reminder to make sure your child has snow/rain boots, gloves, hats, coats, ear muffs, etc for the cold. I recommend having a sweater/hoodie for your child to wear in our class just in case.
Important information:
Friday, December 15th- our class needs 2 parents to be popcorn parents! Popcorn money and making of the popcorn is done in the morning right after school starts! Please let me know if you are able to help! Thank you in advance!
December 20th- Late start- bell rings 9:35am
December 22nd-Last day of school before break. Return January 8th, 2018!
For this week:
Math-Continue Unit 6 on teen numbers. How to represent it, ten and ones column, what 2 numbers make ___ amount. Yesterday I sent home the homework for the week. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail/remind app me. Also, I will be sending home unit 3 sometime this week for you to look over.
Science- continue push and pull movement
Social studies- Difference between needs and wants.
LA- We’re starting informational text this week about reindeer. Where do they live? What do they eat? How do they keep warm? Do they fly like what we think?! 😉 We will be writing and drawing what we learn!
So our class is really lucky because we have a special visitor for the month of December! We have a kindness elf that decided to joined us! The kids took a vote yesterday about her name; please welcome Blossom Elfie! :-). She might be leaving us messages about how to be kind to one another, what she likes to do in her free time?, and maybe having the kids write letters for her? ;-).
If I forget anything, I’ll be sure to update the blog or the remind app.
