Bellwork reviewed Domain & Range of Inverses and Equations of Inverses.  It also introduced the graph of a square root function.

1st, 2nd, 3rd Hours:

Bellwork reviewed whether an equations inverse is a function or not and solving an equation for one of it’s variables.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 7-7 by writing the equation of an inverse.  We also began our discussion on Sec 7-8, graphs of Square Root Functions.

1st, 2nd, 3rd Hours:

Due to testing and clinical intensives only half of 1st hour attended and 2nd and 3rd hour did not meet.

First hour reviewed some of Chapter 9 and problems similar to ones from the Chapter 7 Quiz students took recently.

Due to testing today each class was shortened to about 20 minutes.

Bellwork reviewed solving and equation for one of it’s variables and finding Domain and Range of an inverse relation.  The bellwork took most of the allotted time today.

Bellwork gave students practice graphing polynomial equations using the end-behavior and shapes of zeros.  Students also had to write the equation from the graph of a polynomial.  The bellwork took most of the allotted time today.

Bellwork gave students practice on SAT type math questions.

The remainder of the period we continued our discussion on Sec 7-7 by finding out how to determine if the inverse relation is a function or not.  We also discussed how to find the domain and range of the inverse relation.

Bellwork reviewed finding the degree, leading coefficient, and end-behavior of polynomial functions.

The remainder of the period we discussed how to sketch the graph of a polynomial function by using the end-behavior, x-intercepts(zeros), and the shape of the x-intercepts (zeros).

Bellwork reviewed finding the end-behavior of polynomial functions.

The remainder of the period students worked on an exploration using the graphing calculator to discover the different shapes of zeros (x-intercepts) a polynomial can have.  When the end-behavior is put together with the shapes of the zeros a graph of the polynomial function can be sketched.
