Student Expectations

Testing-Students should find a quiet place to test.
-I will walk students through how to log on to the NWEA test
-Students will be placed in individual break out rooms to begin their test.
-Students should leave their Zoom open while they are testing so I may assist if a testing issue occurs.
-If an issue occurs the student should leave their breakout room so I may assist them in the main Zoom.
-Once the problem is corrected I will place the student back in their break out room.
-Once the student completes their test they may log off Zoom.
After TestingThere will be no live Zoom’s other than the test sessions for the week of September 21, with the exception of Friday, if all students have completed their NWEA tests. I will not introduce new content while we are NWEA testing. Students should follow the independent work schedule of review activities in Schoology for the week of September 21.

Once testing is complete students/parents can expect individualized goal work and small group Zoom instruction throughout the week based on testing data.

Reminder: Friday is a 1/2 day & teachers will be in training for the afternoon.

Thank you!

Specials

Hi Parents –

It has come to my attention that there is confusion about Specials. All classes are virtual and you shouldn’t be coming to school at this time.

Thank you and I am sorry for the mix-up.

PS. The Music Zoom Meeting is at 1, your child can find it on Schoology, Courses, Purple Music rectangle, click on it, and the Zoom invitation pops up. Have a great afternoon!

Building Safety Procedures

Building Safety Procedures for Learning Labs:

  • Parents will complete the Parent Commitment Form the first time they drop off their child for a Learning Lab.
  • This commitment will only be signed once and states that parents will complete all of the screening criteria in the Student Screening Checklist each time their child attends a Learning Lab.
  • Parents will need to complete a sign-in and sign-out sheet each time their child comes into the building.  This is to provide contact-trace information.
  • Parents will not be allowed in the building when dropping off their child.  This is to minimize the amount of people throughout the building and to maintain the practice of social distancing.
  • Facial covers are required by all that enter the building, this applies to staff, teachers, parents, and students.

Dropping- off and picking up your student to Learning Labs:

  • Your child’s teacher will meet you at the doors opposite of the playground.
  • Parents will sign-in on the form provided by the teacher.
  • The teacher will escort your child to the Learning Lab.
  • The teacher will escort your child to the doors opposite of the playground when the Learning Lab is complete.
  • You will again be provided with a sign-out form by the teacher.

Learning Lab Guidelines:

  • It is asked that you have your child use the bathroom before coming to his/her Learning Lab.  This will help maintain sanitization, social distancing, and accurate contact tracing information.
  • Only bring what your child’s teacher has requested to the Learning Lab.  Teachers will specify what they would like their students to bring before each Learning Lab.
  • No water bottles or snacks will be permitted during Learning Labs.  This ensures that face coverings will be maintained throughout the Learning Lab time.
  • Please drop-off and pick-up your child on time for their scheduled Learning Lab.  Learning Labs start and end at a specific time to ensure that the appropriate cleaning and sanitizing takes place.

As always, we are continually evaluating the situation and may make changes as determined by District and Health Department recommendations.

Thank you for your on-going support,

Sincerely,

Mrs. Fournier

Principal

Thank You!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for remaining calm and not giving up to get to class today.

I swear it wasn’t my fault for Zoom not working at the beginning.

We were able to have a few lessons, we got some reading/ writing/ math in today. I am very proud of us: there was no blame, we just kept working to see each other and work together.

Thank you everyone! Now, let’s do it again tomorrow! 🙂

Schoology

To get into Schoology, please go the Dearborn Public Schools website. Then click “student portal”. Then you can click on Schoology from this page. It can be found next to student connect or on the left of the screen under “online learning tools”. Then you will use your student ID (username) and then the password. Once inside Schoology you will see the Welcome course. You can click on that. Then you will see buttons to click. One takes you to Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Zoom. If you see an assignment, it is meant for Tuesday. Do not start it yet. Also the Zoom link needs to be changed. I will be fixing that before Tuesday! Explore around and have fun.

I will see you on Tuesday!!!

Zoom Orientations

Leah Polster is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Tuesday’s Meeting Group

From 9:30 – 12, I will be at the back passing out math and reading books. I have district training from 12:30 – 4:00 P.M. Email me any questions and I will answer them during the meeting or at least try to.
