About Mrs. Faryniarz

Hello Oakman Friends and Families,

My name is Erin Faryniarz and I am excited to be the new music teacher at Oakman and join this great family!  This is my eighth year teaching elementary music and I’m looking forward to including lots of instrument playing, movement and singing in music class this year.

Just want to give a little information about myself and my family.  I got married on Oct. 27, 2018 to my wonderful husband, Brad Faryniarz and he and I just adopted a 3 year-old Golden Retriever named Windsor.  Both my husband and I graduated from Eastern Michigan University, where I majored in Music Education with clarinet being my main instrument.  Aside from teaching K-5 music, I also assist with the Woodhaven-Brownstown Marching Band and give clarinet lessons to middle and high school students.  In my free time, I love to read and go for bike rides in our awesome Detroit area Metro Parks.  My favorite treats are chocolate and Tim Horton’s coffee.

I’m looking forward to a great year at Oakman!
