Marking Period 1 is ending on Friday, October 14th. Please make sure that you have handed in any missing work. Grades will be finalized that day and sent to be printed for report cards.
6th grade: Students have taken and received their Spanish tests this week. Grades were submitted on Grade Book. Please make sure to check grades. If any student scored below an 80%, you are able to sign the retake form provided in class and retake the test on Friday, October 14th during lunch. Please make sure all retake forms are handed in before Thursday, October 13th. We have started German this week with B day. We will continue to learn about German greetings, culture, numbers, days and months the following week. Page 1 and German greetings on quizlet was assigned

7th grade & 8th grade Semester Conversational Spanish: Students will have their unit 1 test on Monday, October 10th. Retakes can be taken on Friday, October 14th if grades are below an 80%. We have been working on memorizing vocabulary and and asking questions about classroom objects and supplies. We also learned about grammar rules: making objects plural, creating plural question words, matching articles to words, etc. We will start unit 2 on animals and colors on Tuesday, October 11th.

8th grade Yearlong: We have been learning about numbers, time, days, months, and question phrases. Students completed their quiz on Ch.1 Vocab 2. Retakes for anyone that scored below an 80% will be available during next Friday’s lunch. Forms must be turned in by this upcoming Wednesday. The next assessment will be on Chapter 1 Grammar 2 on Friday, October 14th. We will be learning to conjugate ser in sentence structures this week.

Their usernames are their last name hyphen first name (no spaces). Passwords were written in their planners. They must practice 10 minutes every other day at home. You will see their points submitted in Grade Book as a formative grade. If there is a family emergency during the week, please make up the points on the weekend and email me when it is complete so that I can go into the system to update it (jedrzem@dearbornschools.org).
So far, students have had pages 1 as homework in their Spanish packets they received this week. Students in B day have had to complete page 2 as well. We have been learning greetings and numbers. Students have taken notes on Spain (Geocultura) and “Chapter 1 Vocab 1 notes.” This is the scheduled date of Spain’s culture quiz: Friday, September 16th. Students have been informed of the quiz each day for one week to write it in their planners.

6th grade: Students have been learning PBIS expectations. Since we meet every other day, we will be starting to learn Spanish greetings this Wednesday. If you have access to a printer, please print out the 6th grade Spanish packet on this blog located in the first tab: 6th grade packets. Welcome back to school! I look forward to meeting all the wonderful students that will be coming into my room to learn foreign language this year! 6th grade: Cultural Food day
7th grade & 8th grade Conversational Spanish:5th hour had their cultural food day. The other classes will continue learning about time and family.

7th grade & 8th grade Conversational Spanish: Final Exam was taken on Thursday, June 9th. Students created Spanish PowerPoint slides on material they have been learning these couple of years. 5th hour will have their cultural food day on Wednesday.
8th grade: Students finished up their written final on Thursday, created verbal partner videos on Friday, and had an assembly during class today.
