Week of Monday, March 19th

6th grade classes: Students will learn about German culture on Monday(B day). On Tuesday (A day) will focus on German colors. On Wednesday (B day) will learn about German family and body vocabulary. On Thursday (A day) will learn about German colors). On Friday, students will play Jeopardy to review for the assessment. Please check planners daily to see which assignments are due the following day. Grades are posted to reflect homework completion and assessment knowledge on Parent Connect.

7th & 8th grade Conversational Spanish: Students will continue to review colors and animals. We will begin to learn to make animals and colors plural in sentence structure. Students will create a project this week using these grammar skills. They will also play Jeopardy to review for the Unit 2 test on Friday, March 23rd. Make sure to study using Quizlet.com.  If there is homework, it will always be posted on Google Classroom on a daily basis.

8th grade Yearlong: Students will learn about new Ch. 4 Vocab 1 terms this week. We will practice these terms through a variety of assignments. Homework is posted on Google Classroom daily. Week of Monday, March 12th

6th grade classes: Students will learn German numbers on Monday (A day). On Tuesday and Wednesday, they will focus on German days & months. On Thursday and Friday we will conclude the week with learning about German colors. By the end of the week, pages 1-4 should be complete. Grades are posted to reflect homework completion and assessment knowledge on Parent Connect.

7th & 8th grade Conversational Spanish: Students will have their unit 1 test today. We will begin unit 2 this week by learning about colors and animals. Make sure to study using Quizlet.com.  If there is homework, it will always be posted on Google Classroom on a daily basis.

8th grade Yearlong: Students will play Jeopardy today to prepare for tomorrow’s test. We had to move the test date because of PSAT testing this week. We will learn about Costa Rica on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. The culture quiz about Costa Rica will be on Friday of this week as well. Homework is posted on Google Classroom daily. Week of Monday, March 5th

Snow Day (last Friday)

6th grade classes: The Spanish test will be today, Monday (B day) and the test scheduled for Tuesday (A day) will be postponed until Thursday of this week because of Friday’s snow day. A day will play Jeopardy on Tuesday to prepare for the test. On Wednesday, B day will learn about German greetings. Grades are posted to reflect homework completion on Parent Connect.

7th & 8th grade Conversational Spanish: Today, students will learn how to make objects and people plural using grammar rules in Spanish. They will learn questions expressions in Spanish this week as well. Since it is a short unit, Jeopardy will be on Friday and the test will be next Monday. Make sure to study using Quizlet.com. Culture slides are posted on Google classroom. If there is homework, it will always be posted on Google Classroom on a daily basis.

8th grade Yearlong: Students will complete their Chapter 3 Grammar 2 quiz on today. They will create a conversation on Tuesday in Spanish after watching VideoNovela. Chapter 3 review will be completed in class on Wednesday. Screencastify will be on Thursday. Jeopardy will be played on Friday. The chapter 3 test will be next Monday. 6th grade classes: Students in A day will learn about culture in Spain on Monday. Anyone who is absent, the work is posted on Google Classroom. Students will learn about body and family vocabulary on Tuesday and Wednesday. Make sure page 7 is complete this week. We will play Jeopardy on Thursday and Friday. 6th grade classes: Students in A day will learn Spanish greetings. Homework will be to complete page 1. Tuesday and Wednesday will focus on learning Spanish numbers. Homework will be to complete page 2 in the packet. On Thursday and Friday, students will learn Spanish days and months. Homework will be to complete page 3 in the packet. Week of Monday, January 29th

6th grade classes: Students will be introducing themselves through group activities in class today. We will create name cards. The syllabi will also be presented. There is a survey to fill out on Google Forms using Google Classroom tonight. Supplies are listed on the syllabi as well. Thank you, and I look forward to meeting everyone! This week, we will be going over PBIS expectations and starting on the Spanish unit with greetings and introductions.

This is the last week of the semester! Make sure all items are turned in. I will allow students to take retakes and turn in work until Wednesday, January 24th. Continue to study Quizlet.com for all terms we have been learning in class. Check grades on Parent Connect. Grades will be posted this week for the semester.

Monday: ASL Test will be administered for A Day.

Tuesday: ASL Test will be administered for B Day.

Wednesday: Cultural Food Day: A Day (Students are bringing in dishes that are Spanish, German, French or Arabic.

Thursday: Cultural Food Day: B Day (Students are bringing in dishes that are Spanish, German, French or Arabic.

Friday: Half Day…Students will be reviewing vocabulary terms through a Bingo game.

They will start a new class on Monday, January 29th. The cultural food day will be on Wednesday, January 24th and the final exam will be on Thursday, January 25th. Week of Tuesday, January 16th

6th grade classes: Students will be learning American Sign Language days and months on Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday, students will learn ASL colors. On Friday, students will play Jeopardy to review for the test. The American Sign Language test will be on Monday the 22nd and Tuesday the 23rd for A and B day classes. Cultural food day will follow on Wednesday and Thursday (A & B day). Students will only need to know 1-10 for the test. Make sure the ASL packet is complete for the day of the test. I have been doing homework checks the past week. Continue to study Quizlet.com for all terms we have been learning in class.

7th & 8th grade Conversational Spanish: Students will be creating slides, working with partners to create a conversation using Screencastify, playing Jeopardy, and completing the unit 6 test this week. 8th grade Yearlong: Students will create a project with accumulative information we have learned thus far. They will be learning about grammar using “gustar” and a verb. Week of Monday, January 8th

6th grade classes: Students will be learning American Sign Language greetings on Monday and Tuesday. We will take notes in class on how to sign these terms. On Wednesday and Thursday, we will learn ASL numbers 1-20. Students will only need to know 1-10 for the test. On Friday, B day will learn about days and months. There will be activities on each page within the packet to complete. Continue to study Quizlet.com for all terms we have been learning in class.

7th & 8th grade Conversational Spanish: Students learn about new verbs on Monday. They will learn about Cinco de Mayo on Tuesday because they will not have me on the actual holiday. On Wednesday, they will complete a magazine project using verbs and terms they have learned the past couple of units. On Thursday and Friday, they will conjugate all their new verbs. All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom. Please check Parent Connect to see if your child is missing any assignments.

8th grade Yearlong: Students will learn about the culture of Texas on Monday and Tuesday. They will learn new verbs the rest of the week and apply “querer” on Friday to their verbs.
