Today’s bellwork reviewed the similarities and differences of incenters and circumcenters.

For the remainder of the hour, we went over yesterday’s Cwk #1 and Hwk #9 answers and finished discussing incenters and circumcenters with a classwork activity. Attached below are today’s class materials.

Bellworks #1-10 are due tomorrow.

Hwk #10 is assigned online and due tomorrow. You can’t submit answers online, however, it still must be done on loose-leaf paper.

September 9th, 2019

Today’s bellwork reviewed labeling and determining line segments and rays.

For the remainder of the hour, we finished covering SAS #3 (angle bisectors) and began discussing SAS #4 (perpendicular bisectors). Students worked on a patty paper activity that involved them constructing perpendicular bisectors on a line segment.

Hwk #8 is assigned online and due by 11:59pm. Make sure to also turn in a hard copy. Finish questions 11 & 12 on today’s SAS #4.

Attached below are today’s class materials.

Today’s bellwork was an SAT Practice Sheet.

For the remainder of the hour, we continued discussing angle bisectors, but in a triangle, connecting at a single point called the incenter. Students worked on Student Activity Sheet #3 and a Patty Paper activity that shows them how the incenter is created.

Attached below are today’s class materials.

Hwk #7 is assigned online. Due Sunday night 11:59pm. Also: finish 9-11 from SAS #3.

September 5th, 2019

Today’s bellwork reviewed vocabulary terms from topic 1, naming lines, segments, and rays from a diagram.

For the remainder of the hour, we finished going over SAS #2, covering what an angle bisector is. Students worked on a Patty Paper activity that reviews the concept of an angle bisector.

Attached below are today’s class materials.

Hwk #6 is assigned online and due by 11:59pm tonight. Remember: copy questions/work/answers on a loose-leaf paper.

Today’s bellwork reviewed geometric and arithmetic representations of patterns. Students had to develop a geometric representation of an arithmetic pattern.

For the remainder of the hour, we began discussing the basic terminology of geometry in the textbook’s Student Activity Sheet #2. This was review from the first week of school.

Students worked on Problems: 20-24, 28, 31 from SAS #2. Complete for homework if it was not finished in class.

Today’s bellwork gave students practice on algebraic patterns; which introduced students to patterns in geometry. Geometric patterns can be found in nature. Bellwork is the 1st page (problem 1) on SAS #1.

Scavenger Hunt Activity from last Thursday is due today.

For the remainder of the hour, we began discussing the concept of inductive reasoning. Students filled out SAS #1. Students can find the SAS by logging into the online textbook at: dearborn.agilemind.com. Username and Password: DPS School ID Number.

August 29th, 2019

Today’s bellwork reviewed vocabulary terms from Topic 1 (Chapter 1) and classifying lines and rays.

For the remainder of the hour, we went over yesterday’s homework over classifying triangles. Students also began exploring the online textbook with a scavenger hunt activity. Attached below are today’s class materials.

Scavenger Hunt Activity is homework if it was not completed in class. Use the time over weekend to explore the site more.
