Week of January 6, 2020

MATH: This week we are in the middle of Module 3 and will learn division of 2-digit dividends by 1-digit divisors, finding whole number quotients as well as quotients with remainders.

ELA: We will be practicing finding theme with literary stories and answering explicit questions about those stories.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We begin Unit 5 this week, which focuses on Our Government: why we need government, looking at the US Constitution, and how the government is set up.

SCIENCE: We begin our study of earth science and soil exploration.

WRITING: We begin informational writing this week with a “cold” pre-write to determine what students already know about informational writing. Students will be writing a state report as they learn about informational writing. We will focus on research and how to use what we learn into our own writing.
