Today’s bellwork reviewed concepts students learned last week – collinear points, endpoints, lines, rays (section 1.3-1.4).  For the remainder of the hour, we finished last week’s notes over section 1.4 and continued discussing naming parallel & perpendicular planes and skew lines.  Reminder: Quiz tomorrow over Sections 1.3-1.4! Attached below are today’s class materials & the quiz review.

Today’s bellwork reviewed points, lines, and planes.  For the remainder of the hour, we began discussing section 1.4 – segments & rays.  Students were able to apply the segment addition postulate to find the length of a segment.  We will finish this section next week.  After today’s notes, students worked on a practice worksheet reviewing section 1.3 (it was due at the end of the hour) Students will have a quiz on sections 1.3-1.4; the quiz will include definitions of terms & applying the terms.  Attached below are today’s class materials including the quiz review.

Today’s bellwork reviewed drawing symbols of rays and lines.  For the remainder of the hour, we finished discussing section 1.3 – points, planes, and lines.  Students were handed out their IXL log-ins. Please make sure to keep the letter for it.  Next week, students will have a quiz covering section 1.3 & 1.4.  See below for today’s class materials.

Today’s bellwork reviewed essential geometry terms from chapter 1.  These terms are: line, ray, line segment, right angle, collinear points.  For the remainder of the hour we discussed points, lines, and planes. Students were able to sketch lines and planes.  A classwork handout on basic geometry concepts were given (due at the end of the hour). Welcome back!

Today was the first day of school – 1/2 day. Be sure to subscribe to the blog to receive email alerts. Students worked on a bellwork vocab sheet that covers all terms from chapter 1 that are essential in this course (attached below). You must finish the vocab sheet after you are given textbooks to keep at home.

Homework: Classroom syllabus was handed out today. Please return the last sheet signed by you and a parent. Also: a short writing prompt was given (small sheet of paper attached to the syllabus) — answer on a separate sheet of paper to turn in. See below for the prompt.
