Field Trip to Rackham Auditorium Ann Arbor
Today Ms. Harden took the After-school Drumming and Honors Choir Students on a field trip to see A FAR CRY and A ROOMFUL OF TEETH musical groups. This spe ial concert was held at Rackham Auditorium in Ann Arbor. Everyone had a great time at the concert! Next, we drove through downtown Ann Arbor for a little site seeing and ate our lunches at a local park on this beautiful day.

3rd Grade Music Tournament Winners!
The 3rd Grade Music Tournament was held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 on the Miller Stage. All third grade classes were in attendance for this special tournament.
The eight finalists were:

They competed in an 8 person bracket, randomly selected and competed in single elimination until the winner was crowned. Congratulations to this year’s Champion, AMENAH ALJAHMI and Runner-Up Mohammed Mattit for a job well done! Congratulations to all participants. You made your classes proud!

Fatima Almosawi – Recorder Soloist!!
5th Grade student Fatima Almosawi had the distinguished honor of playing onstage with the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra as a recorder soloist! The music she played was the Ode To Joy from the 9th Symphony of composer Ludwig Van Beethoven.
The concert took place at 9:45am on Feb. 9, 2017 in the Michael Guido Theater of the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. The concert hall was filled with 4th grade students from all over Dearborn for this wonderful pedogogical concert. Great job to Fatima Mr. Jim Walters, conductor Kypros Marku and the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra!

Students in Grade 2 learn where the keys are on the piano by playing their own original group compositions using the D Pentatonic scale.

Young Composers!
Students in Grade two,composed their own melodies to the Poem “Happy Thoughts”. They each had the opportunity to practice playing it on a xylophone/metallophone while the other group members sang along!

4th Graders to attend Dearborn Symphony Orchestra Concert!
Fourth grade students all across the disctirct will once again have the amazing opportunity to attend a concert put on by the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra! This year the concert will take place on February 9, 2017 at the Ford Performing ARts Center, Michael Guido Theater. Students will be learning a little bit about each piece that they will hear before attending the concert. If you want them to get a head start in their learning, here are a few things that you can look up online:
