Week of January 27th
Good morning!
We are ALMOST done with testing! Just a few students have not finished up, but as a whole I am very proud of some of our scores.
REMINDERS:
- It looks like the weather is staying in the 30s next week. We will try to go outside for recess, as long as it’s above 20 and not wet or gross out. Please make sure your child has adequate outer layers.
- Snacks should be healthy! Yes, cookies and chips are delicious, but if we’re not getting time to burn that energy off running outside, students are just getting antsy during class.
Have a great rest of your weekend!
Week of January 21st
Good morning!
I love long weekends, don’t you? We just had some pancakes and eggs. Mmmm.
REMINDERS:
- Half day on Tuesday
- We will be continuing our iReady, NWEA, and DRA tests. So far I am impressed with their improvements.
- The FLU hit our classroom! In the past 2 weeks we have had many students out sick! Please make sure your child has had no fever or symptoms for 24 hours before sending them back to school. Students were preemptively coming and just passing the virus back and forth. We disinfected the room and have run out of Clorax wipes. Please if you can, send us some Clorax wipes and tissues.
Mrs. Elhaddi had her baby boy and will be missed from our Reading class. We are waiting anxiously to see pictures! In the meantime we welcome Mrs. Omar to our room.

Have a great rest of your weekend! See everyone bright and early tomorrow!

Week of January 13th
Good Sunday afternoon!
I am excited for next week! It’s NWEA time, and I cannot wait to see how much everyone has grown! We also will be doing our iReady Diagnostic.
REMINDERS:
- Friday is a half day.
- We will be taking our Social Studies test this week. We will work on the study guide on Monday.
- No spelling homework or test this week.

Week of January 6th
Good morning!
I hope everyone is enjoying their break and spending time with family! I know I am having a blast. The weather – though not really Christmas weather – is great to go out and soak up the sunlight with Bin. Besides that, I have spent some time playing video games with my husband and enjoying the free time.
REMINDERS:
- As soon as we get back, testing season starts. We will begin with our DRAs. Students will be retested, most at a higher level than they started in August. Students are to be at a level 60 by May/June.
- I will put out a reminder when NWEA, iReady diagnostic, WIDA, and M-STEP are closer to their start dates. However, iReady diagnostic will be open by January 13th.
Have a great rest of this week and next!
Helping set up. Excited about the hot chocolate.

Week of December 16th
Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Just one week before vacation! I know my students are looking forward to spending time at home with their families, as am I.
REMINDERS/UPDATES:
- It’s cold! Please send students dressed warmly in layers. If they get hot in the classroom, they can always just take a layer off.
- Flu season is amongst us! If your child has vomited or has a fever above 99degrees, please give them a day at rest at home.
- Speaking of sickness, we have run out of tissues, hand sanitizer, and floral wipes in the classroom. If you have spare ones at home, please consider sharing with us.
Have a great rest of your Saturday and Sunday!
Choosing books at the book fair. Robotics Club Demonstration. Great job, Malak! Waseem sharing a presentation he worked on. Working on our biographies. Working hard.
