Week of 10-29-18
I hope this message finds you all well and dry and enjoying this week with your families! Here is what you need to know for this week in kindergarten. If there are any changes to be made or additional information added, I’ll add the news as the week progresses. Have a wonderful rest of your week!
*Thank you to the families who donated items and/or volunteered for our Halloween party yesterday! It was great seeing all of you and to see the kids having so much fun! We hope you did too!

*Important Reminders:
*1/2 day Friday (tomorrow)- dismissal 11:45am
*Homework: A new packet came home Monday along with a new math game! This week in math we will be working on regular lessons and I will also be assessing again for updated math skills for the report cards. Please work of these skills for 15-20 mins each night and/or zearn.org (a small rectangular square came home (about 2 weeks ago).
*Conferences are quickly approaching! Please make sure you have signed up for one spot on one of the days provided. I will assign any family who has not yet signed up to make sure we meet and send home reminders at the end of the week on Friday. 🙂
*Popcorn: This Friday we have a half day of school so there will be NO popcorn sales!
*Library check out: Your child will visit the library again on Tuesday morning. Please make sure that your child’s book is in their backpack Monday night ready to be returned this next morning. Any lost or damaged books front he DuVall library will need to be replace by the individual child’s family. Thank you for helping your child become a responsible penguin!
*Reading Packs: Thank you for sending them back every day and spending about 10-15 minutes a night on the letters/words you find in there. This will help your child SO much reviewing their personal bags each night! Those students who had books sent home last week, make sure they are in there this week because they will be switched for one to two more this week! Woohoo these students rock!

*This week in language arts, I will be assessing students on their letter ID (revisiting to see what else they have picked up out of 52 letters), recognizing rhyming, beginning sounds, syllables and the sight words we have covered so far. 🙂
