4th & 5th Hours:
Bellwork gave students practice graphing a system of inequalities and finding the coordinate of the vertices (corners) of the solution region.  It also gave students practice writing a system of inqualities to model a given situation.

The remainder of the period we began discussing Sec 3-4, Linear Programming.

Bellwork reviewed simplifying an expression involving Powers of i and finding Real solutions to Quadratic Equations.

The remainder of the period we discussed finding Complex Solutions, both Real and Imaginary, to Quadratic Equations.

The remainder of the period we discussed the patterns that occur when simplifying powers of i (the imaginary unit).  Students also worked in groups on a problem that required them to write a system of equations then solve this system.

Bellwork reviewed Completing the Square and modeling a real situation with a Quadratic Equation and using this equation to answer a question.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 5-6, Completing the Square.  Students learned how to solve an equation by completing the square and how to turn a Quadratic Function written in Standard Form into Vertex Form by completing the square.
