No bellwork today, students took a quiz over the Unit Circle.
After the quiz students were to work on some practice problems for review of 13-1 to 13-4.
The remainder of the period discussed the graph of y=aSinbx. Students should be able to graph this equation and label the coordinates of all maximums, minimums, and x-intercepts. Students should also be able to write the equation given the graph.

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Bellwork reviewed how to find the Amplitude and Period of a Sine function from both an equation and a graph.

The remainder of the period we discussed how to graph one period of a Sine function and label the coordinates of all maximums, minimums, and x-intercepts given its equation. Students also learned how to write the equation of a Sine function if they are given the graph.

Quiz tomorrow over the Unit Circle.

Bellwork reviewed using the Unit Circle to find Angles that result in given Sin, Cos, and Tan values.

The remainder of the period students worked on an Exploration to find out how changing the part of the equation y=asin(bx) affects the graph. We then summarized these results.

Hwk #9: Sec 13-4, Pages 738-739, Problems 13, 14, 22, 23, 27, 29-32, 42 (for #’s 22, 23, 27 label the coordinates of all max, min, and x-int)

Graph of y=sinx Exploration

Monday, March 9, 2015

Bellwork reviewed using the Unit Circle to find the Exact value for Sin, Cos, and Tan of an angle.
Hwk #8 is due today.
The remainder of the period we finished our discussion using the Unit Circle to find an unknown angle measure given information about Sin, Cos, and/or Tan of that angle. We also briefly introduced the concept for the graph of y-sinx.

Bellwork reviewed using the Unit Circle to find the exact value for Sin, Cos, and Tan of given angles.

The remainder of the period we continued our discussion of how to fill out a blank Unit Circle and how to use the Unit Circle to find Sin, Cos, and Tan of coterminal angles and how to find angle measures given the value of Sin, Cos, and Tan.

Hwk #8 is due on Monday: Pages 722-723, Problems 21, 22, 24-28, 34, 35

Juniors did not attend Algebra 2 today because they were taking the ACT test.

Bellwork reviewed the topics of Radians-Degrees conversions and Coterminal angles.

The remainder of the period we discussed the Unit Circle and how the coordinates for each point are derived.

All juniors in Algebra 2 were preparing for the ACT test tomorrow.

For Sophomores:

Bellwork was a lateral thinking question.

The remainder of the period students practiced finding coterminal angles in radians and filling in The Unit Circle with both degrees and radians.
