33rd Week of School Continued…

I was at a Professional Development all day today so I was not at school.

We have our 10 Types of Government Quiz tomorrow.  This is only 15 points and pencil & paper; not on the computer.

33rd Week of School

Also, I will not be in school this Thursday, so we will review Wednesday; which is also a late start.

NWEA Testing will be going on this week, but NOT in science that will be after Memorial Weekend.

Expect an unit test on the digestion and nervous system sometime late next week.

32nd Week of School Continued…

If you received a Progress Report from me this week those need to be signed and given back to me by Monday or unfortunately there will be a consequence.

Also, permission slips for Levagood Park went out this week in extended core… those need to be returned ASAP.

NWEA Testing is next week.

We will be having a very short geography quiz next week (Thursday or Friday) on the ten types of government.  The end of the Power Point is a wonderful reference.

32 Week of School

Only 6 weeks of school left… Progress Reports will go out this week for those that have a 73% or lower.

We are starting Chapter 14 in Geography tomorrow.  The Power Point is in the previous entry.  There will be a two assessments for this section.

I know we just got done with M-Step testing and the kids did so well, but NOT this week, but next week we will be doing NWEA spring testing.  We take this three times within the school year and it is required within the district.

The Bryant Middle School Science Fair is this Wednesday May 9th.

 

31st Week of School

We had our field trip today at the DISC and it went very well, many students have never gone ice skating before.  It was a lot of fun.

M-Step is tomorrow.  Please make sure you have breakfast everyday, bring your own headphones and get a good night rest each night.

Our science project on “What Happens to My Body When I Have…” is due this Friday.  Students will present and the top ten will be able to go to the Bryant Middle School Science Fair.

Also, we will be starting our last two organ systems unit the Digestions and Nervous System tomorrow.  Here is the Power Point.

And finally our next chapter in geography is Chapter 14 which we will start next Monday (7th).  The Power Point is below. If you want to take re-takes for the last Chapter 24 test which was on Friday students can due that Wednesday before or after school.

30th Week of School Continued…

Geography Test on Chapter 24 is tomorrow.

Field Trip to the DISC is Monday.  Do you have your own ice skates?  You should bring them.  Also, think about having proper attire when you are on the ice like long pants and a sweatshirt.  Don’t forget… you are also bringing your own lunch.

M-STEP starts Tuesday… bring in your own headphones.

Science Group Project is due on May 4th.

30th Week of School

Students are starting “What’s Happens to Your Body When You Have… “ Group Project tomorrow.  I posted the requirements, rubric and an example template (see below).  I will be going over with students tomorrow step-by-step making sure the directions are clear.  This will be done mostly in school, but not limited too.  The Top 10 will be on display at the Bryant MS Science Fair in a few weeks.

We also will be having a geography test on Chapter 24 this Friday.

Retakes for the last weeks science quiz are Wednesday before and after school.

Lastly, there is only 8 weeks of school left and we have only been in the 4th quarter 2 weeks… this is not a quarter to slack off or get behind; many students have missing assignments and are not keeping up on their responsibilities.  Please take this last quarter serious.

28th Week of School

Welcome back from spring break… I hope everyone is rested and ready for the last 10 weeks of school.

We started Chapter 24 in Geography on Monday and the Respiration and Circulatory Systems in Science this week. The Power Points are on the previous post.

We made a model of the lungs, pharynx and diaphragm today for an activity on understanding breathing better.  See pic below.

I am scheduling the quiz on the two organ systems for next Friday April 20th.

I am thinking a test on Chapter 24th in Geography definitely before May.
