The Near Future

Robots by far are the greatest innovation of today’s technology. Robotics is the branch of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science that deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing.

Scientists everyday are looking for ways to improve the ways robots work. For example, 20 to 30 years from now robots can show affection to humans and possibly start acting like humans. You never know robots some day may rule over the human race if we go too far.

Right now, robots are mostly used in manufacturing companies such as car companies to speed up the process of car making. Did you know that robots in reality were created for everything from toy parts to religious ceremonies?

Adin Newman, who is part of the robotics team here in Unis says, “This is one of the most interesting things that I have personally done in my life.” If it wasn’t for teacher Mrs. Simmons none of this would have happened. “I’m truly grateful,” she quoted. “My students have learned so much on how to create robots and I’m truly proud of them.” We should give a very big thank you to principal Mrs. Alcodray who funded all of this.” The current principal, Chadi farhat is also a huge supporter of the Robotics Team.

Robots usually range in cost from $50,000 to $150,000 with all the features the robot needs. It would be hard for ordinary people to fund these types of technology. Luckily, Adin’s mom helped also with the funding by creating fundraisers even spending money from her own pocket.”It’s amazing to see my son enjoy something that he loves doing and anything that benefits my son and his learning. I’m a 100% with him all the way.”

Robots may not be safe in some cases, but hopefully in the future they will make a safe and creative way to create robots. Latifa Awada, who is also part of the robotics team, says “We go every Tuesday’s and Thursday’s to create the robot.

The whole team after the robots done goes down to Ann Arbor and we show off our robot to the judges so we can hopefully this year walk away with a prize.” Many colleges and high schools even middle schools compete in competitions.

Robots are a controversial topic, but when it comes down to it, being able to create robots 20 to 30 years from now that show affection is a really big leap in the science technology world.

It comes with questions like are they gonna get out of hand and destroy everything? Human robots may be in the near future but right now, let’s worry more about global warming or air pollution.
